The Hare & Hounds is hideous. Avoid, avoid, avoid! Beer pumped straight from the urinals. It also costs something different everytime you get a round and not in a charming way. As others have said there's a reason it goes through owners. Up there with the worst pubs in town if not the worst.

Real men go:
Earls/Druids > Glass House > Ground > Glass House > Stop off for a dirty burger somewhere > Druids/Earls (depending who's got the best band on) > Brenchley > Lashings.

H & H did serve me a pint of vinegar the other week. but keeping beer in good condition is the first rule of running a pub. Oh I completely agree, but when its the lager that tastes of sewage you know there's an issue with the place. Visited three times this season and twice I've left my pint before going. I shan't be making that mistake again.

I'm genuinely dumbfounded someone enjoyed going to the Rifle Volunteers even once. It's at no stretch, the worst pub in Maidstone. Even the Dragoon is better.

The Rifle Volunteers the worst pub in Maidstone? When were you last in there holysmokes66? It has been voted Kent CAMRA Pub of the Year for 2016 and is in the running to be named national pub of the year. I suggest you pay a visit!

Admittedly, I did visit about 3 years ago but it was the equivalent of paying £4 to sit in someones living room and drink a fosters. Unbelievably unfriendly too. I genuinely cannot believe the incarnation of the Rifle Volunteers that I went to would even be mentioned in the same sentence as 'national pub of the year' so it really must have changed!
