I read somewhere that this is there last chance, all or goodbye! According to my Southend friend in HK the supporters are already setting up a 'Shrimper's Trust' to support a phoenix club which they haven't done previously - so maybe they see the writing on the wall. Still hoping to get there when I am back in UK at Easter though. I think the guy on the podcast was actually from the Shrimpers Trust. Sounds like they've had no communication and a few good eggs at the club are effectively just keeping them above water. The fans calling for our meticulous and level headed owners to go should look at situations like this and realise how lucky we actually are.

However, all is going to be fine now, because the revamped European Super League will ensure more money is going to trickle down to our level. Yeah, right...

When that was all kicking off yesterday I was thanking the higher heavens I support a club at our level. How insanely boring to be a Premier League fan in 2023. All money and no soul.

When at Yeovil last week some supporters started chanting ‘get our sh!t owners out the club’ Yes me and my mates had a ‘few words’ If our owners are sh!t I feel for supporters of most of the other clubs in the country!

Far too sensible to be passed...

Interesting. Although "where many of the teams have the history, infrastructure, support and financial means to be in the EFL" sounds a bit off-key when you look at some of the ex-EFL clubs in the NL. Sarfend, I'm looking at you. The money thing has got to be sorted out. The bigger clubs needs to pass on far more of their TV money. I also like the '5x20' divisions proposal, as well - as long as the Pyramid still functions, and the new EFL don't just pull up the drawbridge. I've long thought that 24 teams in a league/division is too many. It's no coincidence that the league with the most money and power only plays 38 games a season - not the 46 all the other clubs have to cope with.

You are right to a point but if you cut the league games down they will only introduce another, pointless, meaningless midweek Cup where teams play in front of one man and his dog so is it not better to have a competitive league game instead, and a good crowd?

You only have to look at the premier league to see how the number of games is only an excuse. As soon as they have a free week they bugger off to play tournaments in the richest countries in the world. I no longer listen to managers and players who whine about the number of games they play.

Whatever they might say, not having been paid, and not knowing when (or if) they are going to be paid, must affect the players. Their rise from bottom half of the table in the early part of the season to play-off contenders is pretty impressive under these circumstances, especially with a transfer embargo. But the NL has quite a history* of kicking clubs out or clubs going bust or resigning. So maybe our survival could get slightly less impossible in a few weeks time... *(Since you ask: Newport, Nuneaton, Telford, Scarborough, Barrow, Rushton & Diamonds, Margate, Salisbury (twice!), Macclesfield, Darlington, Halifax, Hereford, Chester, Slough, Canvey, Gateshead... Not necessarily a complete list, but even 16 clubs over 35 years is pretty bloody impressive!)

Woking staked their credentials with a 2-2 draw at Wrexham tonight, while Eastleigh bounced back with a win at D&R and Barnet lost 4-1 at Notts. Nothing changes for us though.

Titles gone. We can’t catch Notts county barring a 97 goal difference swing in 15 games. Playoffs or bust
