Dorking have been found out (just 2 wins in 15 games) and somehow have a worse defence than us, I can honestly see them going down. That really IS an achievement!

FWP now have Dorking relegated in their predicted final table - going down with us, Scunthorpe and Torquay. I think they could be right, but there'll still be a few twists and turns before the end of the season. 47 points for safety. So we only need 25 points from 15 games... Dodgy maths time: If we lose more than 6 of those outstanding games, we're down. And, even if we only lose 6, we have to win 8 and draw 1 to stay up... On the other hand, if we win 5 and draw all the others, we're safe - or win 6 and draw 7 and lose 2 - or win 7 and draw 4 and lose 4... Easy peasy.

Can hardly call themselves a 'league club' any more. Crashed out of the League in 2004, took them seven years to get back up, then, after just four seasons they were back down. And got relegated in their first season back in the NL. Then, after five seasons' struggle in the nether leagues they get back up - and immediately do their level best to go straight back down again.
Including being beaten by us in their second game back!

York had a very good manager in John Askey who has won this league before, but they stupidly sacked him.

The situation at Southend gets a good look into on the latest episode of Guardian Football Weekly podcast, and well worth a listen.
Staff / players / vendors unpaid for December AND January and have until early March to pay £1.2mil to HMRC, at which points things could get very serious if they do not. Really sad situation.

I'd be fairly happy if Dorking get relegated too.

Southend have been a basket case for years now, they will be fine, they always pay the bare minimum when it comes to paying and then deal with the same problem 3 months later.

I read somewhere that this is there last chance, all or goodbye! According to my Southend friend in HK the supporters are already setting up a 'Shrimper's Trust' to support a phoenix club which they haven't done previously - so maybe they see the writing on the wall. Still hoping to get there when I am back in UK at Easter though.
