I seem to remember some shocking refs in the Maidstone Saturday League.

daveu does make you chuckle with some of his posts like "Ive done this and "Ive done that" malarkey, therefore I'm much better qualified than you and my opinion counts for more. Yea, yea, yea.
ps by the way it was a foul on the keeper

Oh God, another member of the daveu fan club ! They seem to be everywhere. I don't think assuming Dave knows which year it is quite qualifies me as a fan. But then, had you been on the board longer, you'd know how much Dave loves me...

Yea, yea, yea. ps by the way it was a foul on the keeper I didn't say my opinion counted for more. And I agree it was a foul, but it is a fact (not opinion) that the ref was entitled to play the advantage, which he did. It's also a fact that players should carry on until the whistle blows, which the keeper failed to do. So in summary, the ref was correct, the keeper was wrong. Unlike Sword I have no particular axe to grind with Tonbridge but the keeper clearly screwed up which even he admitted by apologizing to his team mates after the game.

You didn't actually say it but I felt you def implied it
Like "knowing more about it" cause you played in the Premier and being a ref too.
Very likely you are better qualified than me, but in truth we are not that far apart on this incident.
It would still be of interest to know which club you played for in the olden days.

Leeds village, actually called Leeds United and founded before their more famous namesake. I was gonna say I wouldn't exactly call them the olden days but I gave up playing at 46 and I'm now 62 so I guess you could be right 😕

National League stat of the day: the 4 newly-promoted sides have registered 1 win between them so far, out of 14 matches. It's tough up there!
