NWS I probably over-reacted a bit but I am fed up with this small band of people patronising everyone else on a consistent basis. How are we supposed to react to these comments? By bowing in front of them when we see them at home matches whilst saying "we are not worthy, oh great ones." Are we supposed to feel guilty for not making that trip to Penenden Heath - perhaps we should pray for forgiveness.
I do have respect for the loyal fans who stuck by the club through those years whilst the rest of us did something else, but I don't need constantly reminding about it. As it happens, I went off to play club football because I decided I'd rather be doing that than watching Maidstone Invicta on Penenden Heath. Funnily enough on one occasion I was playing on one pitch down there and Stones were on the other, so I kind of got the best of both worlds!
If a fan who started coming again two years ago puts their hand in their pocket and watches a few games each season, they can call themselves a loyal fan as far as I am concerned. They shouldn't have to be told they are not because they don't go to this game, or that game.
All supporters are valuable, and everyone's money is equal. I am quite sure if you asked the directors, they would agree that all fans are very important to MUFC, regardless of how often they come, or how long they've been coming. If someone who only watches ten games all season has a ticket to the match tomorrow, I say good luck to them and I hope they enjoy it. No doubt some would argue they should be feeling guilt and shame for holding down a valuable ticket that would be better located in the pocket of someone who failed to get one but watched 25 games last season.

It doesn't matter if you helped kill the club like binsey, only show up for the cup games like ads17, drove to Ashford with Payno or wish we failed and were back in the county league like NWS..
As long as you go on Saturday, midweek, whenever, when it's easier to stay in doors you're loyal enough.
Anybody who argues otherwise is just over compensating for something. Probably a small willy or something.

Not sure if anyone can actually win on this one, you don't go to a game, your a glory hunter. You go to the next game, its classed as a big one, your a glory hunter. Can't afford to go to the game, need to feed your family, your not loyal. Go along to the game, starve your family for the night, your a bad person. Haven't got the time, your a glory hunter. Got all the time in the world, can't get transport to the ground, your a glory hunter. Come on, give over, we all support the team, even if we cannot make every single game going. (well done Daveu (sincerely)) Is this an admission that you are a glory hunting bus person who has starved his family and doesn't support the team. What a disgrace and I thought you sounded so nice! I am a lovely person, this was no way focused on my self, it is a bit over the top but as long as you get my point thats all that matters nws

Give that man a cigar, finally a post that makes sense, if you feel the need to belittle the new fans or question the sanity of the older supporters, please re read this post and keep reading it until it soaks in....We are all supporters of this fine club, see you glory hunters tomorrow night

At the end of the day you don't get the status loyal fan because you've decided for the last 2 yrs plus to follow the stones during there best period/best squad etc since reforming because they've returned home and there a walk away from your doorstep every other Saturday! Because you bother to go to Stevenage away in the biggest game in 20 yrs doesn't make you loyal! After following the stones from 1985-92 then not returning the follow again until 2007 to present! The only fans I would look at as loyal are the 100-3/400 who were the there from 92 to present those who bothered with the 30/50 mile round trips to Ashford and sittingbourne! And years of watching a struggling side at away game across the south east ! Not those who sat indoors watching soccer Saturday saying when maidstone come home I'll go,it's easy to think your loyal I guess when everything is rosey and it's on your doorstep! It's actually a insult to those loyal ones who actually acted and did something about not just said it! -) In all honesty a pretty pathetic post, who are you to say who is a loyal supporter and who isn't, if it wasn't for the supporters who have came back to or started coming along when the club came home, we wouldn't be in the position we are now, we wouldn't be able to expand the capacity of the ground never mind sign some of the players we currently have, with that kind of logic would you be happy for there to be only a few hundered supporters watching the team, whilst i will always be in awe of the supporters who followed the team during the lean years, we are all now supporters of the club, regardless of when we started watching Maidstone, people need to move on, its not a competition Ok everyone, this is it...we have all benefited from each other. The old skool helped keep mufc going and followed through the dark days so that we ALL had/have a team to follow. ALL the fans that have joined as we have progressed have contributed in financial means and in passion no different to the next man. For those of us that done the walks, mad cycle rides etc i believed what we have now is what we all strived for. Now then if anyone wants to continue a gay debate about old/new bollocks, then feel free but i will have to dish out a few slaps. Grow up or f off.

Okay Payno, you are a martyr. But let me tell you this. If the 'mavericks' who abandoned the club and then turned up again more recently with their 1989 scarves bought from the club shop at Watling Street hadn't bothered, nor had the newer supporters who didn't give the club the time of day until we moved to The Gallagher, we would still have the '100 - 3/400' 'loyals' as you put it going to games now. Would you rather that than the club raking in the cash from crowds of 1,500 - 2,200? Would that make you feel happy, because you're still a part of an elite band of loyal supporters? This sort of utter, utter garbage is constantly regurgitated on this forum, like a bad Carry On Movie that just never gets put to bed for good by ITV. People can choose to do whatever they want with their support and their money. You are not God, and nor are any other supporters who went to watch Maidstone play against Snodland. The rest of us don't give a sh*t. A bad Carry On Movie? Wash your mouth out with soap and water. Infamy infamy they've all got it in for me! COYS (Carry On You Stones)

Personally, you're only loyal if Bowden-Brown brought you a pint away at Sporting Bengal, or you had 2 or more articles published in the fanzine. ?
