We were awful in the first half. We couldn't seem to string two passes together. The Town End was like a morgue - nobody seemed to want to sing even though certain people were trying. I witnessed a certain Shakey complain loudly about, "f**king newbies", but that was about as loud as he got. We managed to scrape a point out of sheer force of will. The second half was exciting but the football was lacking. Rory Hill was excellent again. I hear what people are saying about a new mix in midfield - surely there are other options than trialling this during an important league game? Stroll on. Cone on you Stones.

I stood up the left hand side of the town end in the second half. It was so quiet I would have got myself a good sleep in if I had remembered my pillow. The only noisy points were Waldorf and Statler....sorry...Tim and Trolley, complaining about things. Err, I think not, Trolley was having a moan, I was saying we were going to win 3-2, for some reason since a certain player left the club I have nothing left to moan about, well apart from the beer in the clubhouse!

It was an average performance not helped by some very poor ref decisions but sorry we were not shit. Again we showed spirit to come back from 2-0 with som very vocal support from the town end. at least some1 knows what there on about!! its noisy every game and the players like it!! ive been there since last season and its stupid that other fans get jealous because they cant make the noise in the libary end!!!

This continuing claim that it is noisy every game is very tenuous. In relative terms are we as noisy as we were at Dulwich last season when there was 500 of us (compared to 1500+)? Were we as noisy as Mildenhall away or Halesowen away? I somehow doubt it and there were far less of us at those games. We could be much louder if we wanted to. If you said that more people should come and join in I would not dispute that. I made very little noise on Saturday. Perhaps next time I will come and get amongst the town end singers second half. One suggestion I have is that because the singers tend to be newer fans such as yourself you tend to have brought some prem type songs with you e.g. the slow singing of 'when the Stones go marching in'. The longer standing fans tend to join in with those less. This season I haven't heard a rendition of 'give us an M and A and I and a D' or, 'when I was just a little boy' and there seems to be much less of the very traditional 'Come on you Stones' at corners etc. This is more likely to get the longer standing fans (who are, in reality, quiet through watching years and years of park football in crowds of 50-200) joining. I suggest that on Saturday, each time we get a corner in front of the town end we start up a 'Come on You Stones'. On Saturday it was the only chant that rippled right out to the left hand side where I was standing.
I was commentating on the Wealdstone game and, I promise you, 20 Wealdstone fans were the loudest bunch that night.
Calling the library enders jealous is a bit silly. There will be some people up the library end who are not interested in singing and just wtaching the game. There are some in the library end who move to the town end in the second half or are in there in the first half before moving to the library end (depending on which way we are playing). When we play towards the town end second half the atmosphere always goes up and this is partly because library end people come and join you.
Another suggestion for the town end faithful is to do what pretty much every other set of non-league fans do and stand up the end their team are playing towards first half and second half. If everyone groups together you will get better atmosphere through the whole game instead of one half.

We don't have loads of different songs, or at least not ones that are used on a regular basis. There's the Gillingham song which doesn't see the light of day as much as it used to, Come on you Stones which has a somewhat dirge-like quality about it for some reason, When the Stones Go Marching in and sometimes The Great Escape. Much as some people like to criticise them Wealdstone had far better variety and considering how few of them there were in the cup replay were actually a lot louder.

I once got reported for blasphemy for saying that on the old messageboard! Watch yourself, they'll all be home soon Well, I got reported on the old board for being a racist! My crime? I used the tagline from an american sitcom called 'Different Strokes' Where a black actor playing a lad called Arnold uses a line to his brother all the time 'whatcha talkin bout Willis' So be careful out there!

Changing ends is nothing to do with being a glory boy. It's just what non-league supporters do. A bit like talking to oppo fans rather than kicking shit out of them.
