Interestingly, there are still three home matches where the attendance hasn't been published, according to yesterday's programme, so don't expect a figure any time soon. The average home attendance otherwise seems to be about 75, but when they played the local derby against Heybridge Swifts in the FA Cup, the crowd was 282, so I would guess yesterday we were around that mark. Respect to TimTim Travel for directing the supporters' coach through the back lanes of Essex to avoid the half hour hold up at Danbury. Thank you Keith, yes there were a few 'albeit drunk' voices on the way back that questioned my more 'scenic' attempt to get to Maldon to ensure that the 'pre-match entertainment' was explored to the full. The 'how come we didn't come this way on the way down' was superseded with 'I need p!ss' Plus I thought the Club's idea of getting a coach for the under 15's was a great idea with the exception of getting Big Mick into a seat designed for some one who's more than only a foot and a half wide!

Hi Everyone
For my sins I do the match report for the club website and send a report into the Non League Paper.
Apologies for getting the unused subs wrong I was using a previous match report as a template and forgot to change the names from the previous game.
For info the unused subs should have read Danny Lye and Barry Penn.
As far as the sending off incident was concerned I had to get the report in asap after the game and at that time the information I had was that the sending off was for foul and abusive language. I did agree with the paper that it would be best to just say it was a controversial sending off and nothing else. They have flowered this up a bit as they have with other bits of the report. I have not seen the refs report so I am not able to confirm the reasons.
Best wishes for a successful season and for further progress in the FA Trophy, its always good when you see a team that you have played get through to later rounds
Regards
Dave Garwood

footballwebpages showed only one scorer for us during the game - "Unknown", who scored a hatrick! I presume that it's the home side that gives the details to footballwebpages. Their scorer however was shown.

Anyone know anything about this Barry Penn? Now that would have upset Danny Lye if Barry Penn had got on before him!
