Nice to be in the next round but it could have been different if the refereee didn't believe the goal line was in the back of the net So what was your vantage point? The linesman was very much up with the line of the ball, as he should be. I was right behind the linesman but with the advantage of being 4 ft taller, so a better trajectory of vision (if there is such a phrase)

any complaints from the opposition about how our plastic pitch put them off yet? Even if we were away?

Had to laugh at Micky Phillips today. He was having words with their number 11 during the first half (think he was the guy who got sent off). The pr1ck was giving it to Micky about being follically challenged so Micky questioned the guy about having to look at himself in the mirror every day haha.

I do wish Micky Phillips would button it to referees. A really silly booking today

We listened to the commentary on the game here, as usual, ( thanks to the efforts of Stones Live of course ) Sounded like a pretty even 1st half ? 2nd half sounded a bit disjointed with all the refs indecision early on and we got the impression that it would end in a draw. Frannie and Zac can't be expected to score in every game, especially since the opposition will try to snuff them out a.s.a.p. Jay's 2 substitutions were the key, coming off the bench as unknowns, the youngsters got the result It would seem that Jay should get some of the senior players to lead by example and keep their mouths shut!! A sending off can change a game !!! COYS.

Yes, Micky can't help himself at times. Like a lot of games over the past month we got through that without playing particularly well. Micky Phillips should take a look at himself - a great bloke to 'have in the trenches' with you ( other clichés can be applied ) but why the outrageous "slip" / "dive" in the second half - just no need at all. Inflamed a tinder dry situation in the main stand where a number of fair minded Maldon supporters were already severely aerated over the refs "bias" towards Maidstone. By the way, good job that our trip up ( & down ) the pyramid hasn't involved a stay in Ryman 1 North ( yet ). Not only does it have piss poor crowds and long travelling distances but exposes the travelling supporter to the unique charms of Essex man. So yesterday, the full range of comments delivered in the usual costermongers stentorian style. Especially difficult was the reaction to Alex Brown's maiming in the second half "get up you ****", "****ing Kent cheats", "didn't touch him ref", "it's a mans game" and so on.......... Anyway, at the end of the day we're in the draw. Good luck to Maldon in the future though, a good set up and the space to grow into a significant force in Essex football.

What was the attendance

Funny how attendances aren't very forthcoming when the gate is split between the two clubs involved.
Last season when we played Chipstead in the cup the official figure seemed to be slightly lower than expected.
Good result yesterday though against a team who don't lose at home very often.
We want to avoid Hemel Hempstead in the next round IMO, they have beaten Dulwich and Hornchurch on successive Saturdays. Kingstonian and Lowestoft went out yesterday.

Micky Phillips must understand that winding up referees never serves to the Stones advantage.
This was the case again today. Agree with the thread about the dismal crowds RN teams get.
Maybe its because all these "TOWIE" boys only support Arsenal & West Ham.
Anyway I think the subs that came on must start next week as we were poor in the first half , almost asleep at times - have been poor for a few weeks and the side needs a shake up.
