The back home after 20 odd years works for me and this season has been great, walking into town having a couple of beers and watching my club in my town. However, I think the owners want a bit more for their investment There are also 1500 to 1600 new (ish) supporters that maybe wont be as loyal as the 200ish that trooped to Sittingbourne and Ashford on a a regular basis Me, I'd still be down there if we lost 5 nil every week, because I'm a sad fcuker! Losing is not a problem, every team does that, but the style of football is not going to keep the punters flocking in, is it?

Absolutely correct Tim. I was walking away from the Ground last Saturday & overheard a Father say to Son something like " that was cr@p we'll not be bothering to go back there again ". So we've got to keep people involved by winning and by playing a brand of football that pleases the eye.

The style of football frequently leaves me amazed. As many others have commented, it seems ridiculous not to use our playing surface to its fullest advantage. If we play the ball on the ground and get out passed and lose then we can have no complaint. However, I'm not convinced that hoofing it forward to Shaun is the way to go. Although I'm commenting on the style of football in a thread marked "Saunders Out" I'd point out that I'm certainly not calling for the manager's head. Despite disappointment in recent performances you couldn't really make a case for sacking Jay with us still top and in with a good shout of at least second. In any case, I'm personally enjoying the season imensely, even if the football isn't always scintillating. Having considered the relative merits of Div 1 South pubs versus Ryman Prem boozers, I'm not all that sure I want to go up anyway

Yup, that works, decide on a managers future on what he nearly achieved two years ago! If Jay had been appointed a couple of weeks sooner, the chances are that we wouldn't have been relegated. As you well know!!

People need to get real. Wasn't there and understand it wasn't great, but as has been pointed out we're top of the league and have a decent chance of the play offs.
Whilst everyone bangs on about the crowd figures, simple facts are that the playing budget was fixed before the start of the season, and as I understand it hasn't been changed dramatically since. Also puts our players (use to playing in front of 300-400) under extra pressure, whilst away teams play it as their cup final. Coupled with unrest from fans this pressure only increases.
I've loved this season, and one of the main reason is having a young local manager leading the way. Jay feels this so much more than all of us, and deserves support not criticism!
Get behind the lads!

As you well know!! Yes, this shows he could have had an even better 'honeymoon' period than he did...I still dont think he should be judged on what nearly happened 2 years ago though

As you well know!! Er, no I don't and unless they give solicitors a crystal ball on retirement neither do you! Just to play devils advocate, he did really well when we had no chance of staying up, but when we came to the last match that was win or bust, the pressure got to him and we lost! And no, I don't fully believe that! But, you started it!
