Sorry, he's the only one who can do something about it! The problem Jay has is that he could take notice of all the good people on the forum and act on the opinions therein. THEN if it goes right we claim all the credit, and if it goes wrong everybody mysteriously forgets what they said and gets on the managers back anyway.

In all honesty, Moley, I am relatively happy with the season so far and am enjoying being back in Maidstone etc etc. However, if we are discussing how to improve the team then, IMO, a centre back with pace is the first essential. I think we are OK at full back positions. In the middle of the park we can be a bit pedestrian at times. The main postion that needs to be thought about in the middle is the right hand side where we seem to have fiddled about with little solution all season. Up front we have plenty of firepower and it has been our saving grace.

After all the years in the wilderness, and Ashford ( ;D), I couldn't give a toss that we are top without playing particularly well. We're home, we're top - what else matters?

I agree we need a centre back with pace, I also believe we need a decent keeper, one who doesn't lose concentration during the game

I don't think we need a new centre back we just need those we've got fit and playing especially Nicky Humphrey. And for me the position is not about pace. Its about being able to read the game, being in the right place at the right time and being able to organise the rest. Wardy does a good job when he's fit. Jay has got a budget and it is easy to say lets blow that and more on trying to win the title but that really aint the right way to go about things. The club have got it right and I think Jay is doing a good job all things considered. We have a strong squad on paper. We have had a rough patch but results are still going our way. We are top and Dulwich will likely drop points but if they don't then they deserve the title. But we are good enough to win through in the play offs if that is the route we have to go. And if we don't then its just not meant to be this year. Regardless the boys will still be playing at the Gallaghers next season.

I would tend to agree with you, for me it's been a great season, but that's probably more to do with being back home rather than what's been happening on the pitch. However, there's no harm in wanting more is there? No disrespect to Sittingbourne (although I probably have) the fact they've no budget,50 fans, a manager we sacked, and in 5th shows what a poor league this is! But, hey I shall continue to enjoy my season starting withe the H&H this Saturday! ;D

OK chaps, it's so much easier to talk the talk than to walk the walk. Pretty much everyone on this forum can see what we need to do in an ideal situation, and I'm sure Jay knows as well, but unlike us, he doesn't have the luxury of only having to talk about it. So we must not joke about things and we must not discuss our season. Can I ask what a football forum is for? It seems you seem to accept that everything is always OK regardless of the evidence put before you. Looking at recent games...if we are to win the division...do you think we can continue to drop points at the rate we are or are you now saying you don't want to win every game? A different position from last season. Yet again you deliberately misinterpret my post for the sake of debate. Where did I say we shouldn't discuss these things?Where did I say everything is OK? But you all go on as if you have all the answers and Jay hasn't also thought of these things, indeed a couple of people have even called for his head. For example, you said you have been saying all season that we need pace at CB, but none of your posts on the subject consider whether or not Jay may have been trying to address the issue

I can only hope that Jay does not look at the febrile punditry on this board for any type of coherent advice.
In fact if he took a blind bit of notice I'd be really worried.

I too would be concerned if Jay was using this or any other forum to get coherent management advice, i think you have forgotten that this is a fans forum where people are allowed to mention whatever concerns them about the club and not a one stop football manager help forum

Blimey, if he comes on here looking for advice he really would have lost the plot I would truely expect that Jay will not thank the fans for the advice if he wins the league, nor would I expect him to blame us if he is gets the tin tack!
