A good game. I felt Eastbourne looked a play-off team and will likely be in the mix at the end. Stones got stronger as the match went on although it took a while to get into their passing game. Too many long balls in first half but better second half. Some neat goals and high tempo play. Our boys looked the fitter of the 2 sides. All handbags in the corner at the end. Tbh I didnt have a clue what happened. Good result and our unbeaten run stretches even more.

I guess we had a weekend off too so maybe that was partly the reason

I thought we looked good tonight. A lot of commitment and pressing. Blair was fantastic with his work rate and his ability to bully a centre half twice his size. The whole group can take a lot of positives from this display. Eastbourne offered nothing much going forward and I thought the result was a fair reflection of the match. Hopefully onward and upwards.

I thought we played pretty well almost throughout - against one of the better sides I've seen at JWW this season. A thoroughly deserved win.
Top half of the table, just four points off the play-offs, and with games in hand. 10 game unbeaten run - unbeaten away, and even now FIVE games unbeaten at home!
Bivesh scored his once-a-season worldie! Wanjau-Smith was nothing special, but slotted in well enough, young Riley Court had a very impressive cameo, and Andre pulled an almost point-blank save that probably kept us in the game. Pity about the crowd, but understandable, given recent home form, weather, etc. But if you chose not to go tonight, you missed the best game I've seen at JWW this season.
As for the handbags, from what I saw it looked pretty serious. Corne was practically wiped out by one of their players - and got a yellow for it! The ref had actually been pretty good for most of the game, but Eastbourne didn't like being outplayed in a game they expected to win, and he started to lose control towards the end. Their player definitely should have gone, but seemed to escape with a yellow.

Thought Cundle looked good too. Not quite match-fit, but that's understandable.
Makes you wonder what's up with Fleet, though - if you'v e got players good enough to slot into an above-average NS side without trouble, and you've been bottom of the NL practically all season, why not play them??

Definitely a red at the end. On TV you could see it brandished. No idea why Corne got a yellow though. Having been picked up and thrown into the barrier, he spent the next five minutes lying on the ground. My overall impression was that Eastbourne rarely threatened in attack, though when they did, Andre made a couple of vital saves. Another keeper would have come out and caught the floated cross that led to their goal though. Despite the fracas at the end, they all seemed to kiss and make up after the final whistle and it didn't seem a dirty game. Indeed, the ref did ok, allowing the game to flow without whistling too much, which made a change.

I think he wasn’t playing by well for them at all, according to their forum

I was told he’s injured but I don’t believe that’s been confirmed by the club anywhere

I sort of understand the logic of not being public with details of injuries, etc, as it could be valuable information for other clubs. But does it really make that much difference? Before their visit last night, how much notice did Eastbourne take of official club statements on such things? They only had to read recent match reports, or look at the lineup for recent matches, to get a pretty good idea of who was available for us. Any decent football staff would never fail to prepare thoroughly for a game just because the other club was being coy about injuries.
But the negative effect on fans of this policy are real and damaging. What's happened to Lodovica? Who is out injured at the moment, what with, and how long are they likely to be out? Who's suspended, or likely to be in the near future, and how long for? These things all matter to fans, and when clubs aren't open about them it adds to the negative 'them and us' feelings among fans. Our owners are constantly on about improving communications between club and fans (quite rightly), and yet this sort of unnecessary lack of communication keeps happening.

I’d imagine Trusty is injured but it would be nice to know. Basically I don’t want to hear he has signed for someone else!! As for Lodovica, he is likely not picked. We had 5 subs. Sol and Shaq as forward options.

There are absolutely no negative or damaging effects on fans not knowing the injury status of fringe squad players. Or even central and important players. None whatsoever. I couldn’t give a monkey’s cuss beyond hoping someone is on the mend. George has proved himself a capable manager, gradually improving results with very limited resources, while enduring the braying of ignoramuses on the internet, who love him after a few good results, but will turn on a sixpence if we lose on Saturday. He owes us nothing after the early season abuse.

Perhaps it doesn't bother you, but it's certainly a cause for considerable negativity among many others.

Only just noticed I've ceased to be a God and am now a 'coach' (God help us all!). I didn't think it would be long before old Yorkie got round to fiddling with the forum. The POWER of the Admin is a dangerous drug...

As fans, we would like to know. In an era where we know so much, I think we have been conditioned to feel we should know everything.
It’s an annoyance but a minor one for me.
