A real test tonight, methinks. Eastbourne are third and their away form is W3 L3 over the last six games. We are the draw specialists, of course - half our games in fact and (whisper it quietly), only five league wins all season. However, Sol is back and (hopefully) George is keen to have eleven players on the pitch having lost faith in Ludo. So, cross everything. Being live streamed tonight too, if, like me, you can't make it.

A cold Tuesday night, a squad that's (optimistically) "in transition" - playing an in-form side, with three ex-Stones in their squad, all anxious to make a point (or three). And probably determined to revenge last season's thumping...
What's not to like?
I hope they prove me to be (yet again) a moany old git, but I'm not holding my breath.
God, I sound like Sword!

However, when you look at who they have played - they have only beaten teams, with the exception of Truro) in the lower half of the table ( Hornhurch 15th Weymouth 22th Welling 18th and Hemel 17th). so hoping we can get a result tonight

Forget reality tonight will see the mighty Stones in peak form with a 10/10 performance and squeezing a home win against a better team that couldn’t get it together on the night. COYS!

How can Greenidge be on the bench? I thought he was in a 3-match ban?

A worthy win. Two stunners and just rewards to Blair's persistence for our third. Shame about their goal and what on earth went on at the end? Presumably anyone down in the corner can shed light on it? Watching on NLTV, hard to work out why Eastbourne and indeed Dorking play that way, when they are vulnerable to being pressed high as we've done twice now. Surely if you are going to do that you need to be able to pass better? Thought we resorted to just booting it upfield too much at times, especially as we look good when moving it around. Sol did ok when he came on Papadopoulos deserved his goal too. As for that strike from Bivesh, it will take something very special for it not to be goal of the season.

Just back and warming up with a cuppa. Thought the first hour was disappointing. They played all the football and we couldn’t get anything going. Just the usual scraps. Thinking back though, they were toothless. They had a lot of the ball and were nice to watch. We were agricultural though.
I think we have to credit the defence and midfield (defensively).
Their goal was poor. I thought Temi would and should have won the reloaded cross and I think a few defenders did too as they didn’t follow their men.
After that we played well. I won’t say Sol changed the game but it changed when he came on. We looked better on the ball, passed to feet, he ran with the ball well, and I’d say we deserved the win.
Two cracking goals and Blair made his own luck.
Paps grew into it.
Where is Tayt Trusty?

Deserved win in the end, but first half, the goal apart, was pretty poor. Eastbourne marginally the better side but with no end product. Biv scored his annual banger, probably even better than the one against Barrow and we had a couple of other chances, but it was pretty much played in the midfield and too much in the air. Didn’t start the second half well and the equaliser was inevitable, but came from a ball in the air Akexis probably should have come for. After that we were the better side and Paps scored another cracking goal. Alexis redeemed himself with a fantastic save from Alfie Pavey. Other than that Eastbourne huffed and puffed but produced very little, and the third goal was down to Aaron pressing the keeper and capitalising on his poor control.
The scuffle at the end came when the ref didn’t give a foul on Sam Corne, he then tried to get round the defender who was sheilding the ball out, and the defender grabbed him and appeared to throw him into the barrier. About half the players from both sides then rushed over and got involved and the ref gave their defender, Sam and Paps yellow cards. The defender was lucky it wasn’t red.

How can Greenidge be on the bench? I thought he was in a 3-match ban? I was wondering that too. Maybe contrary to what others were saying he was able to serve his suspension while on international duty? ( I really don't know, just guessing). Anyone else know?

Their defender, Bamba, was sent off !!

How can Greenidge be on the bench? I thought he was in a 3-match ban? He missed the games at Torquay, Horsham and Bath.
