To keep over-playing the same 11 players twice a week when you have a squad of 20 odd is a disasterous recipe. Shows that there are some lightweights in the squad though. We have some funny old supporters. Dorking Wanderers, favourites still to win NLS went out to Horsham too, but I have searched their forum and found none of the entitlement to success found in this forum. What total crap to talk about some rotation in the squad by George as being 'disrespectful to supporters'

Yesterday def ranks as one of the worst performances by the team this season. Stones were just not at the races, not in quality, not in effort. The only consolation is that the Trophy has never been a competition we've excelled in or prioritized. It's all about the NLS at the end of the day. Performances in recent league matches have been much better and the form more consistent. George will want to forget this one but I suspect he will have learnt things about some of his players and none of it will be positive.

So poor, but shit happens.
Some you win, some you lose, that's football for you.
A single bad performance and result needs to be set against the run of decent performances and unbeaten run in the league.
George doesnt sound happy at all.
Be good to turn this one around and quickly

Highlights the wrong term - there weren't any - show the team just weren't on it. First goal was Fowler's fault, giving the striker a free header. Second goal also poor with the scorer unmarked at the back post. No shots on target from open play either, but well done Horsham. As others have said, our fringe players are not good enough, as we saw at the start of the season, so the squad really needs boosting with three quality players. Finding them another matter.

Interested to note the highlights listed the score at the end as 'Dorking' 2 Maidstone 1. Sure I went to Horsham!

3 things I would do if I had a Time Machine and the ability to influence our owners…
Don’t sack Jay because he had become a victim of his own success making the owners and fans expect more for less. I was Jay out at this point as well!
Take the Manchett offer to buy majority control of the club.
Not to offer two year contracts to players or managers at this level.
I would also not married my first wife, but again at the time like all the other things it seemed like a great idea at the time!!

Battling Stones were beaten by a team who raised their game because of the FACup run to play beyond their league position to thwart Stones excellent squad that was decimated by injuries and tired from the long trip to Devon. The Stones fought well but the odds were stacked against them. The Group will re-Group and go on to be NLS champions as in George we trust. (That’s for DaveU as we are not real supporters if we say anything more negative than that) Come in Dave even a real supporter like you must have found todays debacle to be crap? I can’t comment as I wasn’t there. As for the rest, I have never called any out for being justifiably negative. But what I will never agree with is those who constantly criticise the owners for not spending money they/we haven’t got. If they’re such experts why aren’t they putting their money where their mouth is.

My first time at Horsham. Easy to find and park, extremely helpful and friendly marshalls and club, lovely little ground. Only negative was the score. Having said that I enjoyed my day more than some victories where the reception and facilities were less than impressive.

Couldn't agree more, I would add their fans (the ones I spoke to anyway) we're welcoming and friendly too.

The club did not have the money and the scouting was non existent added to which Jay was distracted by the offer from a league 2 side and marital problems. The club made the right decision about Jay in the circumstance but the wrong decision about his successor. As to Manchett buying a majority control it was my understanding that he did not have the readies and would take out loans on the ground to raise the money. We have been there before!

Yeah - nice set up at Horsham apart from the floodlights which presented plenty of dark areas on the pitch. Perhaps they can spend their 'considerable' prize money from yesterday to get a few more candles

Trouble is supporters want their team to do well in all competitions and we wanted our team to have an FAT run especially after leaving the FAC. I think George did want to win this too. However he nor the players did a great job in fact it was just plain awful. Let’s hope lessons have been learned that will see better league performances but only time will tell.

But, apart from that, as others have said, it was a good day out (apart from the score...) - every other non-league club should visit Horsham to see how things should be done (including us). There was a lady at the entrance greeting Stones supporters as they came in! I was a bit taken aback by that, but that's what the club was like everywhere. It actually made me want to go back to our Isthmian Premier days - but we'd only win the ruddy thing and get promoted again!
