Horsham up next.
They're not doing too well at the moment - 13th on current form, compared to us on 2nd.
They're better on home form - W4 L1, but we're unbeaten away (although we do tend to draw a lot...).
On paper it's a clear win for the Mighty Stones - but then it's the bloody Trophy!
And, of course, as everyone will tell you - they've beaten Dorking!
But that hasn't proven quite so hard this season, especially away (Dorking have lost 4 out of 9).
So, a goal fest?
Possibly not...

BetFred have us at 12/11 to win with Horsham at 2/1,the draw is 13/5. This is good price for Maidstone as i would have expected us to be odds on to win. We haven't played Horsham very often but they haven't beaten us since 2007. I do expect a number of fringe players to get an outing but if we take it too lightly we'll get turned over because they are a useful side.

With unfulfilled play off position hopes (at the moment) and out of FAC and KSC I hope we play our strongest team for both momentum for good league results and to progress in the only other competition we are in this year we can still get excited about. If we don’t we may get beaten. Wasn’t it George who said every team we play goes the extra mile against because of the cup run last year?

Arguably, Ludovica should play, in the hope that against lower league opposition, he ought to cope. If he does, and scores a couple, it may just kick start his season in the NS. However, as a twice subbed substitute maybe George has finally lost patience with him - and who could blame him?

I’m not even sure he even SCEFL standard to be honest. Not as a forward anyway. He put himself about and set up a decent chance but he showed no sign of or even appetite for winning a ball in the air.

He put himself about and set up a decent chance but he showed no sign of or even appetite for winning a ball in the air. That's the really strange bit, he has moments of looking like a footballer, but he's absolutely useless with his head, he doesn't even try to head the ball. I am deeply puzzled as to what George sees in him. Surely it's not just his height? George has brought in a few that haven't really been good enough, but most of his choices have turned out to be good, and he's certainly never brought in anyone as weak as this. What does he see in him? Maybe he took a chance with Amantchi and Faal, and those worked out, so he thought he could do it again? I really wish this would turn out like that, but he's had so many chances, and, apart from the odd few seconds of seemingly waking up, he's really shown nothing to suggest he should be in a NS team.

A bit like Trent AA when he pulls on an England shirt… To stop yet another thread all being a bit Ludicrous, lets get back to the FAT. If we play our proper team, Horsham 0 Stones 3 If we don't, Horsham 2 Stones 0 Please George dont take chances!

If you're not here today, you're missing a nice day out (so far). Lovely ground - reminds me of the Gallagher circa 2012 - nice people, well organised, decent pub just up the road. What's not to like?
I think I just heard the PA say Blair and Corne on the bench?? Hmm. This is not the KSC - and Horsham are a half decent side, with lots of experienced players...
Still what do I know? (Rhetorical)

Fowler having a stinker so far. No composure without Corne. Losing already. HL not even on the bench - George finally come to his senses? Team needs to get into gear quickly.
