You do understand we are nothing special? We are at the very lowest level of full time professionalism. If you want to go all big boy Premier League, crack on. I won’t undermine the confidence of any Maidstone player by trashing him and making up nicknames on here. I've yet to see him play but I find it hard to believe he is any worse than Glenville Donegal and we paid £45,000 for him 30 +years ago probably the equivalent of £250,000 these days. |

It’s not the negativity do much as the level of negativity or the way it is put across. Fine that he isn’t the best and we all know but the amount and way it is said on here and elsewhere is way over the top. When he scores the winner against the Mangles on Boxing Day he'll be a legend, it doesn't take much more than that to be considered a legend these days. |

A few observations
How did we only score one
Why was the second disallowed
Why was the blatant push in the box not a penalty.
How did Hornchurch still have eleven players on the pitch at half time. Surely calling the linesman a f**king idiot is a straight red, not to mention a few tasty challenges.

The easiest of one nil wins.
They posed almost no threat.
We played pretty well. First half much the better side. Playing the ball through the team nicely. Should have been a couple to the good.
Second half, started in the same vein.’last half an hour we let them come to us / they pushed up to half way, they did absolutely nothing with it, we hit them on the break and couldn’t put our chances away.
Regulation win. More of that please.

I have said he reminds me GD. When he came on today, Harry did everything right. He set a couple of things in motion by winning the ball and laying it off. He also set up a gilt edged chance which we missed. |

A pretty fair cameo, all in all, glad you enjoyed it.
Another very decent performance but goal scoring remains an elusive goal.
So much good play going forward.
Hard to believe the end product equalled just one goal.
Climbing up the table now, play-offs a long way off, but time is on our side.

The thing is now, (some) people will never admit if he does anything good, because he is supposedly (I've not seen enough games to comment), rubbish, no matter what.

The thing is I don't think anybody thinks Harry is a that good a player. Shame but that's how it is.
That doesn't mean he's incapable of good touches or even a decent spell within a game.
Check out his career stats. Aaron Blair scored more goals last season than Harry has managed over his entire senior football career since 2017.
That says something.

Today was his best cameo. He set up a guilt edged chance and he got charged down the ball with a lot of effort he was warmly cheered.
Extreme effort is always appreciated.

I thought we played some really good stuff today. We're moving the ball a lot quicker than we were at the start of the season and creating a lot more. Only criticism is that we should have scored more and put the game to bed, given our dominance. So often in football a team with only a one goal lead gets punished for not taking their chances and I really thought that was going to happen today. To be fair we saw the closing minutes out comfortably tho.
I thought Ludowika did a good job /looked decent when he came on. Still hope that he could yet prove most of us wrong?

People on this forum who say any other than super positive black and amber specs eyed view on this forum are criticised for stating unacceptable facts and truth and yes this forum is exactly the right place to do that not in the stadium when you want every player to do well. Also I’m sure everyone who quite rightly criticises Harry L would absolutely love to see him suddenly turn into a Levi or a Mo and head the ball like Duncan Ferguson and become a Stones legend.A real one. Good cameo today and we would love it to become more of course but come on is it likely? Sorry - being too negative/realistic again. Let’s all accept everyone has a right to an opinion- from black and amber specs to super negatives…..and to banter with each other about those different opinions. |
