Don't really understand why a couple of our 'Gods' still fail to appreciate the merits of Stones keeper. Andre is a good signing imo. A bit flamboyant for some but nothing wrong with a big personality I think it’s fair to point out a few dodgy moments. It’s hard to judge him fairly the season following Covolan who was exceptional for this level. Maybe that’s it. It’s all discussion. Opinion. One game he will be a hero, another a villain. The duality of the football fan. We can all watch the same game and see it a different way.

I didn't go but, I can imagine how we played, we have been absolutely dreadful bar one game which we drew against Aldershot. Anyhow you had to do the business, and you did. This is by far the worse Fleet side I've ever seen, which doesn't help when the manager hasn't got a clue where to play players. Good luck in the next round, hopefully someone who will give you a game. Wasn’t pretty Phil. You reminded me of us in our horror season at the bottom of the NL. A bit rudderless. Played some nice stuff in 3 or 4 minute spells but so poor at the back that the game had gone. Do you regret staying up? No regrets staying up. We signed enough good players this season on paper, with fans of there previous clubs saying you've got a good player on your hands. It's a problem though when the manager doesn't know where to play them, or how to set them up. At the moment they have no confidence, it's shot to bits. Maybe a decent manager might just be able to turn things around, on the other hand we may just stick with this one, but I doubt it. My main concern is our owners tbh.

He put the ball straight out a couple too many times today, but he at least puts real distance on his kicks. His distribution seems decent overall, though he is yet to really command the box, which is where he has come unstuck. Whether that is down to not yet gelling with his defenders, am not sure, but the pros outweigh the cons at the moment for me.

Well. That first half was excellent. Corne, Tayt supreme. When we get the ball to Benton in the final third he was excellent too. Wingers looked brilliant. Blair had their defence on toast. Defence did what they had to most of the time. Andre crucial save at 2-0. Everyone did well. We were properly at it and combative. Let’s talk about them. That first half, they were shocking. They gave us the ball in dangerous positions so often. They didn’t win any battles. Can see why they down there. They were better second half but the game was done. Kane was particularly bad. Thier usually good Kepler had a bad game Kane was outstandingly bad - he kept us amused all afternoon! He looked more like a fan who had blagged his way onto the team. Although the average fan would have actually played better. We should have played fair and brought on Lodivica to balance things up... Hes played over 200 games in the football league and 2 years ago was playing for Coventry www.transfermarkt.co.uk/todd-kane/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/154287

Came for, and got to a couple of crosses, and, more importantly, didn’t come for ones he had no chance of getting. Seems to be more in tune with the defence than in previous games as well. If he keeps it up he’ll be a very good keeper.

Ebbsfleet fans forum reads a shade dispirited this evening. Apparently the "dubious" first goal was the fault of the awful pitch and the ridiculous bounce of the ball. Not too happy at all with most of their players and the manager being slated

So, here we are, the morning of our biggest game of the season (so far), a (nominally) huge local derby against the old enemy and all coming on the back of a very good win (and performance) against Worthing last week. And yet it seems the lack of interest is almost deafening. No specific thread, no speculation about team choices etc etc. Is it because we have but a single win at home this season (H&R in the cup) and no performances of any merit, that have sucked the life out the Gallagher and by dint of that, any enthusiasm for this game? Certainly hope not, though we do seem to make hard work of things at home. Am sure Ebbsfleet will come and do what everyone else does - sit back and hope our sideways/backwards football eventually breaks down so they can get the away goal and see out the game. You'd think their confidence will be low. However, this is The Cup and sides struggling in the league often raise their game because the pressure is off. Who knows? Be nice if both teams really give it a go and the Gallagher gets to see a really exciting, all action game for once. A decent referee would be good too. It's not too much to ask, is it? I'm sure it will be a good game, I just hope the morons from both sides behave themselves. As I am in Gran Canaria may I enquire as to the behaviour of said morons. Did they be behave themselves?

Most of them games in the Championship as well. I was told he was player of the season at Stockport last season who got promoted. Lots of players with a good pedigree, I'm shocked at how bad we are, but I still feel we can get out of it.

From the MS, they seemed to. I didn't notice much cross-barrier 'banter', and didn't see anyone removed. I think our fans were just too busy enjoying a surprise win, and their fans were just too dejected to bother - most of them left well before the end. There were also a lot of stewards - more than was usual last season, and they seemed much better organised. In the last 10 or 15 minutes they actually widened the barrier by making fans on both sides move further away. Perhaps we are employing a different security firm - one that knows what it's doing? Outside the ground, there were police everywhere. I didn't see or hear of any trouble - but, as I said above, I think the Fleet fans were too pissed off even for that.

From the 3 games I managed to get in this season whilst I was in the UK (Weston, Boreham Wood and Enfield) I would support DaveU's earlier view that he did not command the box and lacked strong communication with the defence. Something I never noticed from Covalan. I can only hope he has improved which has been the reason for our results turning around.
