For me nearly every game where I have looked at the starting 11 I’ve been a little despondent!
No more so than today.
George sees what players do during training I get that, but from what I see in games I don’t understand his choices.

I don’t know what Gurung brings and I agree with Dave on the keeper situation. When you have a good backup and your keeper is making regular mistakes and doesn’t command his defence then it’s time to try plan B.

I would be interested to see George’s win rate in the league since he took over as caretaker up until now.

On another note I wonder if the club ever put in complaints against refs if this is even a thing, it’s getting a bit silly now

If I were an optimist I might say that’s a good point against a better team.

Why do our team look like they need to be walked through every aspect of a game?

The most basic of tactics shouted from the sideline. I tho k we need to let the team “go”

In the case of the Lodovica he was apparently training with the club for weeks before officially signing, so George obviously rated him.

Just how much training do you need to wander around aimlessly, looking entirely disinterested?

How much training do you need to not even try to head the ball?

How much do you need to stand still while the game passes you by?

It's a long time since I suggested that I could do better than a particular player, but - in my 70s and totally unfit - I really could play as well as Ludovica.

Better, in fact, as at least I'd look like I f**king cared.

Good point at the end here. Our two goals felt like "sod team orders, I'm just going to have a go".
I occasionally stand by our 'dugout' to see what the coaches do during a game. Yesterday, Craig was mostly taking the piss out of their keeper for time wasting and berating the ref. At one point, he even encouraged the crowd to throw a loose ball on to the pitch, in order to stop/slow the game.
George just shouts stuff and got very frustrated with Greenidge for not challenging headers in their box.
Guess the coaches are just like the fans, trying to encourage - their influence lies in when to make the subs and picking the team of course.
Wonder when Sam Corne will be back? It would be good to see him work with Papadopoulos. The latter looks like he could be very effective partnering Sam.

No question we have some good players in this team, just not enough of them.
You can't carry the keeper and main striker every game, plus a couple in between who are not nearly good enough.
George still needs another 3 or 4 quality players to turn the team into a top 5 challenger or even title contenders.
Seems a bit far fetched at the mo but with other pre season favourites struggling too, nothing is impossible.
It's how you finish the season that matters, not where you finish in September.

I’d like to say I’m disappointed with the keeper, but after pre season he’s turned out exactly as I expected. Time to give Holden a chance. The new striker reminds me of Amanchi when he first came. Looked awful for the first few games but look how he turned out, so maybe worth a couple more games to see if he can get up to speed.

It was good to see Jordan Higgs back, I felt he made a difference when he came on. Partnered with Papadopoulos should provide a good midfield.
I cant agree with criticism of Bivesh. I think he has improved a lot and his role is to breakup play which he does well and his passes rarely go astray.
We have a lot of good technical players and all that is missing is a goal scorer and I agree Lodo is not the answer. It was good to see 2 outfielders score but why do we wait until the last half hour to start taking shots?
We have stopped passing the ball around the back for half the game and I can see improvements but we still need a target man for Blair to play off.

According to Wikipedia Lodovica has scored 18 goals in over 7 seasons. Last season at Callie and Aveley he did not score in the 9 games he played. He did train with us for several weeks, I wonder what the recruitment committee saw apart from his height.

The price mainly. We have had 20 similar players in the last 10 years and they rarely prove to be a success

That was dull for 70 mins until the right players were on the pitch. Why Benton isn’t starting is beyond me and Ludo should get his coat. Higgs and Papa could be a better CM pairing and should get the runout against Herne Bay next week. Chesham are frustrating to watch with their gamesmanship and limited ability but again it is dropped points at home. Time to dispose of some players to free up funds for a striker and keeper of NLS quality.

When I do that I get sarky responses!
Where are the “In George we trust” brigade?
Of course we need to give George more time to break the pattern of poor recruitment since the summer and give him the chance to find another Matt Rush or Mo Faal or Jephte Tanga……but if even after the 3 or 4 newbies to replace poor summer recruits we slip
into the relegation zone surely questions must be asked.
