Recruitment has been absolutely woeful He has managed to put together a worse team than last season ! I’m afraid he just doesn’t know this level Hes let better play go than ones he’s recruited I would make a change now I’m not so sure

Someone noted that the FA cup success money was conspicuous in its absence tonight. Or was that just for last season? Whatever happens, the club will want to run at a break even at worst so that doesn’t mean pumping in last seasons profits. Or not much of it

We took off our two best players tonight while chasing the game. Up until Khrasniki was subbed we were the better side, all be it a bit naive defensively.

Obvious things
We are too small
We are timid and lack leaders
The substitutes made us worse as the two players that were keeping us in the game Krasniqi and Benton were replaced by 2 players who caused us to lose our shape completely.
If we are going to play long balls up the channels or hoof the ball forwards we require a big tall forward like Chelmsford possessed - Otherwise our forward game will continue to fail.
We are in a relegation scrap and need to make changes now.

As I have always said, the cup run aside, we finished about as low as was acceptable last year given resources available. Loooootttts of work to do in the next few weeks though. The booing GENCO fans are just a symptom of the modern game.

We just lost 5-1 at home, not to a particularly good team.
At this point we don’t look like a team that need a little tweak or a loan signing away from a competitive team, we look totally out of our depth like a squad that somehow came up through a playoff miracle.
The only positive we were clinging to was a good defence!
Did their keeper make a save all game?

Their goalie made saves (even if the ref didn’t think so). I reckon we will make the playoffs.

I can remember plenty of booing in the Barry Fry 'season' and that was in the 80s - before the parents of many of the Genco fans were born. It was ever thus - and ever will be.

Yeah but not after our most memorable season ever (arguably) and only 7 games in. The instant success. The entitlement to success. That’s the modern fan.

That was not easy on the eye.
We did not need to change shape in the 55th minute, Andrade was having a great game in the first half, I was happy with how we were playing until I realised that not a single chance was being created, nothing was happening in the box, and then they came at our defense and that was game over.

No, but it was when we were constantly being told we were 'the Man United of non-league football', and were expecting to be promoted into the FL any season now. Fans were exactly the same then - for the same reasons they are now. They know shite when they see it and don't want/expect it.

Recruitment has been woeful. Not sure what the people who assembled the squad were thinking, but in a league where physicality is a constant we lack size, height and strength. We also lack pace, skill and brains. Surely at least four of these six are essential? Hard to know where things can go from here because in the seven games so far so this season, our one win has come against one of the few sides below us in the table. For about 20 minutes yesterday, we looked decent and Chelmsford were wobbling, but they kept having a go and soon it paid off, as Stones fell apart. Confidence very much an issue, but we have no Plan B, while Plan A simply doesn't work because we don't have the right players. Changing the manager, on its own, isn't enough because anyone new coming in would need to build a new squad. Therefore, would only give George a few weeks, because turning the ship around takes time and heaven forbid we do a Dartford or Dover.

I think we can all agree that George got his player retention/recruitment wrong. I'm sure George would agree too !
Time to make changes urgently. Probably 5 or 6 new players required over the next 2-4 weeks, whether George can manage that I have no idea.
