That is good for you sd, you want a medal or something? Tbh this hamlet person sounds like they're involved with the club etc so let's just have positive vibes. We only have the train situation to worry about if it does go ahead, we do like a challenge;D ;D

Thank you for your update on the pub situation, pinkpanther, these are also ones my Dad has "sniffed out" being the real ale lover that he is.
May I ask - The Hoopers pub, which we went to previously, has this pub closed permanently? A fair few of us Stones fans were gutted to hear this pub closed as it was very good and a nice atmosphere.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow, a game we all would love to go ahead :-)

I cannot say too much about your first sentence, materialstwit, as I follow Arsenal - have only seen them play once, but I like to see them win. My main passion is for The Stones.
I think it would be very difficult not to enjoy watching Maidstone at home now (very biased I know!)
There is a very happy all-round atmosphere, we're home after 24 years and have an amazing ground/stadium, whichever you'd prefer to call it. All thanks to our fantastic 3 owners.
It is so nice to see them walking around and talking with everyone, there is a general appreciation from them to all supporters for following Maidstone United, which you don't get certainly in the football league, because it is more a business now and all about money, they ain't fussed about the fans aslong as they're paying the monies.
It is nice to hear of new fans enjoying their visits to the Gallagher and hearing of people buying season tickets etc.
With regards to away games, it would be nice to see more people going to them, mainly Saturday ones obviously than midweek as these are in the evenings, but I think numbers will increase probably more next season.

Hiya mushi! No one is really mocking ya, I think there were just wonders if the helping out task involved stones fans (pretty silly really as if we help clear it, it could still be called off, waste of time and money travelling) Nice to see a club trying very hard to get a game on, shame it seems other clubs don't try as hard, ie....HALIFAX - a "cabbage patch" according to their fans, we went up on the Tuesday, it was almost perfect! Anyways fingers crossed the snow don't fall too much - been pretty pathetic in The Stone so far, would just about class it as sleet. Obviously it all depends on how frozen the pitch is as you say, but would be awesome if the game could go ahead

Well my negative/realistic head is on tonight, and I reckon it's forward planning ruined, DM.
Can't see the game being on, freezing temperatures and snow forecast.... I think I might finally have to make use of the Wii I got for christmas :/

Hmm, somehow I can't see this applying to us - especially if we do get snow.... could have troubles getting there for a start.
More for the supporters around the area who can just "pop" along and give a helping hand, or for any stones fans that want a ride on the snow plough! ;D

This was on their forum - a reply after NWS had put he hoped it would be postponed as he can't go....
Sorry to disappoint you NWS but we are pulling out all of the stops for this game. A large part of the pitch is now under cover, we also have some volunteers and a snow plough on standby. The team have hit a real purple patch and we certainly don't want this potential 6 pointer to be postponed. It should be a cracker!
Not sure if they are joking about the snow plough though?!
Bring it on I say!! ;D

Thank you NWS - I think I should get 2 applauds, firstly for putting up with Shakey in the car (though on the way back he fell asleep and was catching flies, almost took a photo!) and secondly for freezing my bits off, especially second half, but hey ho, we won so it's all good.
Nobody will start a chant about going though, cause it weren't nearly as good as the Halifax trip, which I went to as well, boom, you part time supporters, rubbish, call yourselves fans?! ;D ;D ;D

Yeah I'll be surprised if this game goes ahead too - was surprised enough about last night, but as mentioned, with the forecast being minus degrees and sleet/snow Friday, this one could be a thumbs down
We will see!

It appears it will be just one spare seat needed now and the parents aren't well enough to go, so just for me please.
Thanks Tim, not doing too well getting there yet
