Agreed. However, history shows that for one or two clubs a year, a cup run goes hand in hand with a relegation battle. Let's hope that is not us. Just look at the last 2 winners... An appearance and possible win at Wembley = lifetime memory 14th in National league = Ho hum I think its worth the risk

Coach journeys are quite good for those that dont travel away very often and are not as confident as others as planning there journeys, my son and I enjoy the travelling an stopping at different places as well as banter with different fans. Be almost like a short drive to Dover, not even a pit-stop anywhere. It's not lack of confidence. I'm quite happy to plan and drive long trips and frequently do. But finding somewhere to park near football grounds can often be problematic and Dover especially can take ages to get out of once you get in. Then of course, if you don't drive there's the possibility of a few beers in The Cricketers. Ah The Cricketers Probably the only pub in Dover which hasn't got a dog on the roof !!!!!

Personally i would prefer a grass pitch. Having said that i fully recognise that if it wasn't for the artificial pitch we probably would not have a football club On the subject of long ball football i clearly remember Gravesend and Northfleet fc coming to our place in the Nat South season before they severely Kedwelled handing us our arse by playing probably some of the best football i have seen at our place. Did Sir Reg not attend this game or was he making a new series of on the buses

I am not sure what impact this would have on Ter Horst. We are going to play at the biggest ground we have played at since we came home in the second round of the fa cup and he has been loaned out and replaced with a relatively untried youngster.

Failed to impress apart from his goal at Hartlepool. Sorry not a fan. If we get chance to see him again watch his movement and the positions he takes up. Its not his fault if he doesn't get the ball. I think the lad could be a gem but we probably won't get to see it

The atmosphere was no better or worse than usual. Some people just have unrealistic expectations of 90 minutes of constant delirious singing and chanting, and nobody quietly groaning to themselves when a striker misses an open goal; all those individual groans probably add up to one subconscious collective outpouring of frustration. Tell me any football ground where that doesn't happen. Let's not take anything away from Solihull who looked useful going forward, and with a little luck could have grabbed all three points. Got to feel for those visiting fans who unwittingly wandered into the Dragoon before the game. Funny you should mention that. Last year we visited Florence and in particular Dantes house. On the wall there is a fresco depicting the seven levels of hell and clearly in the top corner of level 1 there is an inn featured with the title Dragoono. The boy was clearly on his game.

What you are suggesting there for me is the death of football I don't for one moment think the Directors would even discuss this If the rules are stupid you lobby for change not throw matches

Given the current rules regarding doing too well with 3G pitches resulting in the punishment of relegation, does anyone else think that we should start throwing matches towards the end of the season if we are still up near the top to avoid being relegated? I don't mean anything officially spoken of or orchestrated of course, that would have the danger of coming out and resulting in a worse punishment. But maybe a few of the players would have the common sense to miss a few tackles, be second to the ball, forget to mark someone, be a bit slow blocking that shot, accidentally put through their own net once or twice, or blaze that shot at an open goal high over the bar. There would plenty of opportunities to manipulate league results in our opponents favour to lower our league position before it was too late to avoid the worse fate of being relegated for the crime of doing too well whilst having a 3G pitch (I don't say doing to well ON a 3G pitch, because we seem to play better away from it at the moment). I'd rather that we were cleverly fraudulent, than virtuously stupid in 'doing the right thing' and getting relegated for our honesty.

Speaking as 1 of the seated dead (season ticket holder in main stand) i cannot sing along or bounce and can just about manage a mewling sound as i stumble morosely towards the exit after about 65 minutes in a gaunt shuffling parody of a human being. Having said that i am well up for the cup tomorrow and am looking forward to having a few beers in Nam

A slight word of caution, according to the Weather forecast, it will be slashing down with rain in Cheltenham from 2 AM to 12 AM on Saturday. I do hope the grass pitch can cope ( will be seriously p**sed off if a 6 hour round trip goes to waste ).... The Pubs will still be open though and we can still have gallons of Bishops Ringpiece !
