It could all have just been a dream, but one that has affected a lot of people on here in the same way - put it down to a collective paranormal experience.

Well the BBC called it a 'giant killing' so Cheltenham are obviously a huge club and we're tiny.
Their fans and officials say the first half is the worst 45 minutes they've ever seen. So, the 0 - 3 scoreline can't have had anything to do with:
1). Us having talented players (perish the thought) 2). Many players with plenty of football league experience who would never be fazed playing at a club like Cheltenham 3). The fact they thought we'd turn up and park the bus instead of playing three up front 4). The fact their manager didn't do his homework properly. Jay has set us up like that away from home against good sides several times before this season, with broadly similar results 5). The fact they arrogantly underestimated what we would be capable of, despite being, in real terms, only a few places below them in the football ladder 6). The fact that, by the time their players and manager realised how we were set up and playing, it was too late, they didn't have a plan to deal with it and their players trotted round the park in a shell-shocked state for the rest of the first half
Their attitudes were summed up by the fact their fans were claiming on the forum that some of their players weren't trying because they didn't want to get injured. At least the manager came out in his interview and said that wasn't the case
They're out, we're not, let's enjoy it and move on. For sure, if we draw another league side in Round 2, they won't make the same mistake. The fact we can play a bit is well and truly out there now.

The guy who was doing the BBC text commentary wrote "something incredible is happening in the West Country" when we went 3 up. I know that some sports commentators go in for a bit of hyperbole at times, but to say that of a team being beaten by one less than 20 league places below them is a bit ridiculous.

The fact is Cheltenham are only 14 places above Maidstone and when it was 11 vs 11 on saturday we looked by far the more accomplished side.By comparison the team that’s 14 places above Cheltenham is still in the same division as them.I would describe saturday’s result as a ‘surprise’ rather than a ‘giant killing’ infact Oxford City’s result at Colchester eclipsed our victory.

Let's not start to detract the fact that we were superb on Saturday !. Cheltenham never knew what hit them in those first 20 minutes and they looked shell-shocked!. But we mustn't get too carried away now and hope that the draw tonight will be kind !!. Great atmosphere throughout the match !. Well done to everyone connected to our club !!. COYS. 🏆⚽️

great performance but as Jay makes the point, it was not really that much of an upset not to be compared with the Stevenage win when Stones were in the Ryman and when only Steve Watt had previous league experience nowadays it's more a case of spotting a Stones player who hasn't got league experience actually, how many players started Saturday without ? Anybody ?

The local Glocs press called us part-time so that shows the level of research they bothered doing.

A fantastic game with a great - and correct - result but can't agree we were 'superb'.
Cheltenham weren't very good on the day and we took full advantage and rode our luck. We were consistently better than them 11vs11, unsurprisingly struggled when a man down but wobbled defensively across most of the second half.
I think we've played better football than that this season.
Could have been tactics or luck, but all four of our goals came from long balls, plus at least two other opportunities late on that we didn't take, and Cheltenham's defence couldn't handle them.
Despite how some will read this I'm not knocking the performance/team but nor am I getting carried away. There's better performances to come from this group.
