Yup, and when I decided to sit in the main stand for the Barrow game, I got there early, got some tickets for the stand only to have some old prick tell me its his seat. When I said I have the seat number in my hand he said he had it too. I asked to see, he shows me a different number but says he sat there for years. Maybe the dumb arse couldn't read his numbers or something because he thought number 85 was 83. He then tells me to f**k off and a nice guy in the row below said we could sit next to him. If he had sat there for years, he would have changed his seat number to that seat so it was obvious he was a liar as well as stupid. Quick bit of checking that said old chap wasn't my dad but not only does he sit in a differently numbered seat, but I've never ever ever heard him tell anyone to f**k off My two penn'orth on the riverside. Working on the basis that when building a seated stand the groundworks and terracing gets done first, why not do that and have four or five tiered rows of terracing that seats can subsequently be fitted to and then a roof over the top? This way you get a better fan experience due to a better view with phased costs towards ultimately having a covered stand. True it may not affect capacity, but what it does do is make the experience more attractive and therefore increase the likelihood of repeated initial attendance that then becomes the addiction/dependence that so many of us now have. Totally agree. Someone on here posted a link to a company that can provide simple 5 tier stand solutions some time ago. Apologies that I am too busy to search but will let NWS find it again. Also someone here posted a good idea for making the town end the ‘away’ end just with a few modifications for segregation. Again this should be achievable within the budget. Furthermore if the media stand area adjacent to the main stand is now moving to the riverside then why not convert this to a family area? Again a low cost option. However, maybe Oliver is playing his cards close to his chest. Underpromise and overdeliver?

The dugout would obstruct the view for the first 2 tiers unless it is relocated to the East side of the pitch

You gotta love this forum the owner comes out and says categorically that nothing, repeat nothing will be built on the riverside with the FA Cup money and yet you are still redesigning it as if its going to happen. The truth is without a new owner the only seating you'll see on that side is a deck chair .

Sword 🗡️ it's so good to spend other people's money. It's spending with no accountability. Or Fantasyland.

Some elevation on the riverside would provide better views. I know Oliver points out it wouldn’t increase capacity, but would offer a better experience to the fans that attend and don’t want to cram into the Genco to see the pitch. Moving the fence back could offer additional options, perhaps terracing similar to what we have in the town end. It could sit either side of the new gantry. A more ambitious idea would be adding seats (I know I am dreaming), especially on the riverside, to boost season ticket sales and accommodate families who want to sit together. I worry we’ve taken the view that the gaps in the main stand mean there is no demand, but there are limited groups of seats to accommodate families. We already have elevation on the riverside, they are called trees. And indeed, they have been occupied by spectators that could see more than those below. However, monetising the situation through terracing or even a slope would help more supporters see

Somethong in the lines of the town end stand on the riverside would be so much better than what we have at the moment

Hard to remember the fuss our owners made about securing the extra strip of land on the riverside to allow the development of a new stand. Anyhow with the new gantry it looks like those earlier plans have been scrapped. Oliver says we cant afford the £1million it would cost. But how about the type of basic covered terraces we have at the the Town end and the Elvis end before the Genco. Much better views and some decent shelter from the weather. Too much to ask for ? Surely not !

Exactly.2 stands either side of the dugout with 5 or 6 steps, with a roof. The stand nearer the town end more aimed towards families with children. I'd take my kids much more if I had that option.
