I think it has everything to do with the national lottery. They represent “you” the lottery player and “your” money. They should ensure that the government objectives to compensate lost gate receipts as a minimum. “Me” as a lottery player am totally pi$$ed off my money has been allowed to be fraudulently used.

You're right. At the very least they should monitor/audit what people do with the money they dish out. I'm still puzzled at how the NL got away with this so totally. Goverment makes a clear statement that clubs should be compensated on a lost revenue basis, NL completely ignore this, governbment do nothing. Although, without wishing to drift into politics, you have to admit that this is pretty par for the course recently - perhaps that's all there is to it, just more bloody incompetency?!

Hilarious how he claims the clubs complaining have brought the competition into disrepute.. He fails to address the main question of why some clubs have MADE money from this deal by receiving more public money than if crowds had been allowed.

It wouldn’t be so bad if all 65 teams got an equal share. Simples. All elite, all treated the same. Ie 10,000,000/65 or roughly 150k each. But to see the national league is even more elite than nln or NLS then you can understand grievances.

There was one team who got enough money that they actually refunded their season ticket holders as the government grant they were given was way more than they ever expected to get.

With the mighty Blyth Spartans and Dover against us, we might as well give up. Time for the BELTs to flex their muscles.

But with the case being presented by such an absurd figure as Jim, there must be every chance of any proper review over-turning the self interested pig trough approach applied to date. Parmenter may have the biggest snout but decency and fairness may yet have a shout.

No doubting the money making skills of Mr Parmenter. His fruit and veg importing business has helped make him a wealthy man sure enough. Business skills in abundance but he has applied some grossly selfish skills in his carve up of the Lottery funding designed for clubs to help offset the losses of nil attendances, which has now been at least in part, wasted. Jim's self indulgent exercise in working out a scheme to maximise benefit to his club is totally 'one eyed' No objective or properly thought out rationale, listening to his excuses now he is coming over as self interested and bitter individual

What's the betting he's a big fan of the Grump? Same rationale, same selfish attitude. For future streaming of any away games, might be an idea to look at JDL's list and boycott any stream from a club making a profit from the grant.

Helen Grant
@helengrantmp · 17h Pleased that Chairman of @thevanaramanl has confirmed to me that an independent committee will review distribution of @tnluk funding. It is crucial for the future of @maidstoneunited and many other clubs that the money is allocated in a way that accounts for lost gate receipts
