You guys will be elated to know that Hill has recruited a big, strong and experienced set of players who are good enough ( based on what we have witnessed over that past 2 seasons) to make the play offs. And with money still available, we are expecting at least 3 more signings. And before your troll Dave Harris responds, salaries are and will continue to be paid on time. And we don't want MacMahon back either. Good luck in the Conf South, it's a tough league to escape from. On the face of it, you look to have recruited well. You have lost a few as well but I still think you will be pushing playoffs. Still not sure I’d sleep easy with the current owner in place, if I were you, but enjoy the rollercoaster while it goes. The only 2 most were sad to see go were Payne and Cheek. The latter was on an eye watering salary which was totally unsustainable on the new, sensible budget. Our sadness has been allayed by the recruitment of Lawless, who is Payne and Rance in one player, without the red and yellow cards. Ugwu will score plenty, and Obileye is an absolute beast, 6'4", quick , mobile , good feet and scores goals.

i thought we looked very good on Tuesday. We saw more tackling and battling than in most of last season. Pre-season games are about experimenting, this means giving trialists a game and taking off good players to make way.. which means you usually let in goals. We probably need a hard-nosed midfielder but our first-choice defence looks very strong. John Still and Hakan are usually looking at different things from these games than our fans.

I wouldn't go that far, but Ebbsfleet are having a bucket collection for us at their next home game! You are talking bollocks mate all you have to do is keep losing and you'll escape first season.

Gaz, your mate Dave Arris is still pining for Darryl .... he still hasn’t accepted that his beloved Darryl has gone.

There again you never see JDL and Harris in the same room together

It is hard to know what to make of the PSFs. Dagenham seemed like a decent test, but then you look at who was playing for them and start to wonder. The earlier games don't really count because everyone was feeling their way back at that stage. As for Southend, they might be a stern test, but again it all depends on who they play. You'd hope Stones would field the starting eleven for Weymouth, give or take a couple. Will Southend field a strong side or mainly youth players and triallists? We won't know what the new Maidstone side is like until after the Weymouth game and even then, suspect the visitors will aim to come and enjoy themselves at what will be, for them, a big occasion. Let's hope they don't do an Ireland. It's their Under 23s.

Could we stop yet another MUFC thread being devote to Gravesend and Northfleet please?
Unless they have a good striker and midfielder who feel ignored at Stonebridge Road and fancy being and NLS star at the Gallagher instead!
