Cassidy has been injured, Embery had 1 good game.Who would you take out to play Phillps.I put Davies and Walton in together as I thought stop the goals and maybe pinch one.

You answered 1 of your questions. Phillips in for Walton. He has been best player this season! Embery ahead of Romaine all day long. If Cassidy fully fit I would play him too. Let’s go for it.

Just feeding off scraps for the rest of the season. Anything other than a loss would be nice. Particularly in a local derby. Which we never win. Let's give the kids something to sing about.

Lewington in goal for me. Only saw the highlights of the Gills match, but Henry still not convincing enough. A couple of good saves, but could/should have done better with both their goals. That said, ours looked preventable too... As for the rest, JS1's words about the blend of the team probably have more importance than who are the better players. Let's hope he and HH can find a decent mix for this afternoon. Sticking one over both our local rivals would go a long way towards making up for this miserable season.

So, Fleet nothing special, but we are worse. They mark us tight, because they know we don't pass to feet, we stand back when they have the ball, like the Czechs last night. When we have corner, they leave two up. When they have a corner, we are all back. Why do we persist in all clustering together when we have a goal kick? Only one thought this half, lob it down the left. At least Powell is trying to play, while Cassidy must wish he had someone like Cheek or Ugwu beside him to share the load. Oh well.

When do I get the job as team psychic? Mystic Meg is in the house..... Just done a palm reading with Henry. He got the medusa card. He asked me if that means he’s a mighty adversary. I said no, it means if you ever saw yourself in the mirror you’d die of shame

What sort of comedy of errors was their second goal. Difference between the teams today: They were/ slightly useless, we were completely useless.

Another abysmal performance and I've just heard John Still on BBC Kent say that he is pleased that we are competing now ! ... We were awful again and next season is nothing to get carried away as if we have a new team with different players , it won't guarentee us success !!.

So, normal service is resumed. We get beaten by the 12 men of Ebbsfleet, who put in a masterful display of falling over and wasting time. Ashmore should have got at least one yellow, by the end he really was taking the piss. And why not, when the ref is so clearly on your side. Credit where it is due, Ebbsfleet know how to defend and scored from their only two chances. We had so many corners, but they snuffed out every one. However, quite how a side as powderpuff as Maidstone get so many free kicks given against them, every game, is completely beyond me. Fleet milked every opportunity and the ref fell for it every time. Still it doesn't matter and hasn't for some time, of course. Things to consider for next season? Wrap Jake Embrey in cotton wool, he could do really well in the NLS. Seriously consider widening the pitch (I know, it isn't really possible) - we might just keep the ball in play a bit more. Even Ashmore kicked the ball out a couple of times. Alternatively, find somebody with a decent long throw. As for the rest, in JS1 we must trust. None of today's team would make the Fleet first eleven, though Powell tried hard to make a point and there was no lack of effort. However, as we have known for a very long time, they don't aren't good for this league.
