Will generate a lot of interest amongst the two sets of fans, but aside from that it will be a very tough test for the Stones, need to put 100% effort into it an work hard on concentrating for 90+ mins. as a silly mistake will be punished, an I hate losing to this lot.

A couple of weeks ago, before the Havant game, the answer would have been a definite NO. The thought of being beaten by a bunch of very smug neighbours was too much to bear. Add in the fact that, had we continued playing so badly, Fleet fans might just have outnumbered us anyway. Things look a bit more attractive now and with the chance of players coming back from injury, we might just give them a game and therefore worth going. I hope.

I'll be going being as my season ticket is already paid for, and if theres one thing I hate more than a team playing atrocious football its losing money. My stein of hope will be making an appearence pre-game at Hammerstone HQ in the same way it did for Havant at home, and we know the result there.

I will be there but alas I didn't see enough improvement at the Gills game to be confident of a win and so I am going for a hard fought 1-1 draw in front of 2309.

I think a draw would be a good result for us, but l expect we will battle hard for an unlucky 0 - 1 loss.
I've also been wondering whether we would be better off not to have been promoted at all. But then, the play off win against Fleet was just one of those amazing, can't believe it, once in a lifetime, results that all the heartache since has to be worth it.

Guess that's a big "what if?". Would we really have been happier hanging around the NS play off zone for years? Don't think Ebbsfleet fans were, and look how many millions promotion cost them? Could you really see this forum happily enjoying not being promoted, year after year? Some great expectations next season.

You often see people on here talking about being happy just ticking along in the same league year after year. It's bullshit.. everyone wants promotion otherwise what's the point of going along every Saturday. if you go up and come down again fair enough. I am sure Macclesfield will have enjoyed this season in L2 even if they go straight back down. As will Huddersfield in the Premier.. Or we could become a Tonbridge and just stay in the same league for 20 years...?

Some are more realistically and just don’t want to be relegated, but if you haven’t got that ambition of wanting to win, and it is possible for the non season contenders (Leicester, Macclesfield) then you might as well give up. How many managers would get a post saying their main goal is to achieve nothing except maintain the clubs current position?

Not sure anyone is suggesting NLS is our level. However, had we lost to Ebbsfleet in that final, then it is arguable than another year in the NLS would have seen us better equipped to make the step up, as indeed Fleet have (sort of) proved. Likewise, we may need more than one season back in NLS to rebuild again. If that is the case, so be it. I would rather that happen than us become a yoyo club. Next time we get in the NLS, survival could be ever tougher, so we need to be ready.
