And Havant are winning and Dover drawing.
A little bit of hope would have been nice...

Plenty of effort, but simply not good enough seemed to be the Stones Live verdict. Strange evening in the NL though, with Braintree 3-0 at Sutton and Barrow 3-1 at Wrexham, while H&W bounce back to beat D&R. When you think of the problems that Eastleigh, Gateshead, D&R, Ebbsfleet, etc have had off the pitch this season, it is doubly annoying that they have all been relatively successful compared to us. Shit happens, as the Buddhists say.

Davies played well, as did WDH though when he got time on ball he struggled. Second half was an improvement but just nothing g in final third

Just want next season to start now. Fed up with this season. Been a shambles since pre season.

OK, today's burning question:
If H&W are so crap, that we are able to easily beat them at home, how come they thrash Peter Taylor's much improved D&R 3-0, just three days later??

Davies played well, as did WDH though when he got time on ball he struggled. Second half was an improvement but just nothing g in final third Yes, they were the better side as they are an NL team and we are NLS at best. The telling factor came up YET AGAIN which is Eastleigh had all the possession but we "kept our shape" i.e. we chased shadows but didn't let them through to score - until the 43rd minute, when their possession inevitably produced. I keep saying it and keep getting criticised for it, that we don't hold the ball and pass the ball enough, beating players , and building attacks. We just don't keep possession. The ball is like a hot potato to us. On a good day we look for the "telling pass from midfield to put our sprinting striker through" on a bad day we hoof a long ball for our short strikers to get nowhere near to in the air, but always, always, we choose to head the ball in the air or hit a speculative ball to a 50-50 situation (Which is what I call "Keepie Uppie") - we never pass to our man, who holds and passes to the next (our) man, and so on, That's football, and we don't play it. Even though we are full time. That's shameful. Eastleigh did it, and got their rewards, even on a night they described as a horrible game where they have played better and lost! H&W we may have won by "telling passes from midfield to put our sprinting striker through" but we really have to get this possession thing sorted. We need to keep the ball and pass it to the man when we have it, and battle to win it back when we don't have it. Its what every NL team does that beats us. Its not rocket science. My fear is that if we don't get this simple footballing maxim right next year even NLS teams who can string more than a couple of passes together will outclass us.

It's a mystery, even Toyah still doesn't know. I think I will try to channel Brian Clough, and access his wisdom. He is sure to know. I will make my report should I have any success.
