dont know why tajbaksh came off in the first half when he looked ok Can't comment on Saturdays game, but whenever I've seen him play he looks like a complete liability who's a red card waiting to happen.

I can understand where you're coming from but I would add that he was superb when he came on late in the game at Salford. If we had nicked it at the end it would probably have been from one of his passes into the box.

And there's the rub. Am starting to think that consistency, or the lack of it, is our biggest problem. Being harsh, only WDH, Phillips and Cassidy really fit the bill. The rest are good/ok one week, bad the next - as if they do just enough and no more.

Might have to flip a coin for this one. Go and potentially see that illusive home win since August? Realistically i'll probably be in the spitfire watching a massacre 15m before the end with the live stream. Having said that, it would mean an evening with the wife..tough call. You go to football and I'll have the evening with your wife and I promise to be gone by the time you get home. Just stay out of my mini bar!

The team will pull themselves together and the fightback starts tomorrow night. Walton can shout at them from the sidelines, where he shouted them to two great victories previously.

I’m going. Very dubiously though. My key question after Bromley is not whether we win or not but whether we turn up, play like a team, and like a team that wants to stay up. That’s what I expected at least from JS and HH. Let’s hope we are not disappointed again. 2-1 is feasible but the crowd may be low 1500ish perhaps but hope it’s more. COYS!

If we don't play as a team tonight, then rightly or wrongly, questions will start being asked about management. Again.

Only by idiots. They have literally just taken over with a brief to rebuild for whatever league we are in next season. Nobody is going to be suggesting another change anytime soon. We are where we are and any extra points an unexpected bonus.

We are where we are and any extra points an unexpected bonus. Hi Barney you need to read the posts again. Yes, only idiots would ask for or expect a CHANGE of Management, but it would be more than reasonable to start questioning the new Management if we don't bother turning up tonight and don't play as a team. That's a basic task of ANY management team, surely? If you are saying we shouldn't expect that of JS and HH because we are doomed and its all about planning for NLS, why don't we just tell the NL we aren't going to show up for the next 13 games and take relegation now! Yes, I know that would be ridiculous, as we DO have 13 games to play, and we DO have 13 games to try to win, irrespective of whether or not most of the squad probably wont be here next year either in NLS or NL, if the miracle happens. So, its reasonable for us fans to expect seeing a team tonight that at least puts up a fight, and reasonable for us to expect the management team to have the experience of player psychology, team dynamics and match tactics to get that to happen - especially when they are as experienced as John Still. Stones fans deserve, and rightfully expect, a fighting and unified performance tonight, even if we are still outclassed by a resurgent Halifax and lose. Give us something to cheer!

I thought that's why we signed players like Aryan - to give us fight - along with fighters like the De Havilland Bomber, Cass, Elliot, and Mickey Phillips II. Wishart maybe, perhaps even Powell of late (not earlier in the season) could also fall into the fighter mould , not sure yet on the most recent newbies and we are probably at the end of the road now with off and on players like Pax, Muldoon and some others, who we really haven't got time for anymore as their is a fight to have. Who would you choose to have in your army if you backed into a corner by the enemy? That's who should be playing tonight. Do you agree Mr Still? I hope so.

We have to go Oldboy or Nick will accuse us of stopping our support for the club, I personally think our best hope is a 0-0 draw but have grave doubts we will keep a clean sheet even against this lot

We have to go Oldboy or Nick will accuse us of stopping our support for the club, I personally think our best hope is a 0-0 draw but have grave doubts we will keep a clean sheet even against this lot Lol yes we must keep Nick happy! I think we can still win tonight but for me, as I have said in this and another post, is that win, lose or draw, we MUST come out fighting and give it our best shot, which includes a) no stupid defensive errors (Not including a rookie goalie error, for which we have to factor in at least one per game all the time we play a rookie keeper), b) playing the ball on the ground in midfield more than "hoofing", and c) creating SOME scoring chances, and actually burying one or two of them. If we still lose 2-3 because Halifax were just better than us but the Stones give us fans a), b) and c) then at least we tried. Or alternatively if we become fortress boredom but sneak a one-nil that's equally good - but we must, must, must give our fans something to enjoy - not just go through the motions on the way to another embarrassing home capitulation 1-3 or 0-4 to a team we could have beaten. Also, can't we play Lewington in goal, just for the experience? Excluding the Lincoln keeper, we have sorely missed experience between the posts this season since Worgs left - Lewington may save having to factor in one rookie mistake a game. Just a thought. COYS!

We will then huff and puff but will fail to blow down their wall of defence and they will sneak a second late on. Crowd will be 1650.

At least that will be different to when we played at there place, where we hoofed up up to Mullings who didn't win a single header out of about fifty attempts.
