A bit early, I know, but it seems like everyone has exhausted whatever might be said about Saturday. There are only so many ways to say we were crap. Clearly, we cannot 'expect' anything on Tuesday. Anything positive, that is, because the season so far has been so poor. Yet, as supporters, we have every right to expect a reaction after Saturday's dross. Whether JS can somehow find a midfield from what is available is unlikely, but what he does need to conjure up is a performance. Failing that, gates will plummet, I fear. We might even win, if Halifax have a bad day, but it will only be papering over the cracks. Team choice? Six defenders and four up front perhaps?

Remarkably, Halifax have drawn 5 out of their last 6 league games and have scored just one league goal in that period. We can't score, they can't score, 0 0 anybody ?

Interesting that Halifax have only won 7 matches, same as us. The difference is that they have drawn 15 games compared to our 5 so are 10 points ahead. All down to a good defensive record with only 32 goals conceded.
Team selection should also be interesting; hopefully SW will be fit.

If you think we're depressed, you should read the Halifax forum.

This insight into the current state of Halifax almost persuaded me to go on Tuesday in the hope we may get a draw. What does everyone else think?

Supporting a football team that is doing badly is a peculiar form of torture. However long the winless run, you keep going in the hope that the next game will be the one where it ends. Hence intend being there, but if we lose, am not sure how much longer I will stand it this season. It is not just the fact we lose, but the way we lose. Not enough passion, not enough creativity. Assuming Halifax have done their homework, they will know we are there for the taking. Defend in depth and hit us on the break. Sooner or later, but usually midway through the first half, we will concede a goal, be crap until well into the second half until eventually mounting a bit of a challenge in the last 20 minutes - which comes to nothing. Recent form of both teams suggests a dull 0-0, but surely Stones fans deserve better. Is this the one where we actually come out fighting, storm into an early lead and then consolidate with a couple more? Would love to think so! More likely dubious refereeing decisions will cost us goals at either end and we all go home pissed off. Again. And yet, just maybe, fans will get the reaction we deserve from Saturday's rubbish. We can but hope. Come on you Stones. FFS ...

At the risk of being branded negative, I cannot see us even getting a 0-0 draw . We were that bad Saturday, and let's face it the score could have been 5 or 6 nil, that I cannot see us improving enough to get a result by Tuesday.

Definite win. 4 or 5 nil.
The lows make the highs even sweeter.

Wish I could share the optimism, but with Walton now out long term, it is more likely a 4-0 loss. Might as well roll a dice to pick midfield. Can Romain do a job there, he runs around enough. The only formation I can think of is to go old fashioned and play two out and out wingers, say the new signing and Robinson, with Cassidy and maybe even Richards up front. Defence play the ball out wide, wingers run like mad and cross the ball high or low. No point faffing around with midfield passing. We can't do it. Seasick Steve has a song 'Started with nothing and still have most of it left'. Capitalise the S in Still and it could be our new team song.

Might have to flip a coin for this one. Go and potentially see that illusive home win since August? Realistically i'll probably be in the spitfire watching a massacre 15m before the end with the live stream.
Having said that, it would mean an evening with the wife..tough call.

I bet your wife is hoping you go to the game - not another evening with you she hopes?
Team selection must be an issue now with Walton out and after Saturdays nightmare- Midfield is the issue so why not try Edobar and Wishart in central midfield with Phillips and Taylor along side
Up front its Cassidy of course but who with him? Amaluzor is likely, How about trying Paxman up front.
Four at the back Meridith, De Havilland, Davies and Donnallan.
Just the musings of an old Git

play striz or lewington in goal dion henry is atrcious might do good saves but is dreadful with everything else and he injured walton muldoon should be nowhere near the side its obvious JS doesnt rate paxman play phillips in midfield the forwards need help so amaluzor and someone else can helpout send taylor back havent even seen him on the ball wishart is brilliant play him every game same defence but remove davies and bring in edobor powell was the only decent midfielder on saturday dont know why tajbaksh came off in the first half when he looked ok
what a tragic team
