Tamplin "sacking Wheeler" - I smell a rat. Job done. Russians visiting Sailsbury to see the famous Cathedral - I smell a rat. Job almost done. Conspiracy theorists discuss. Great conspiracy theory if the Dealer is welcomed back with red carpet at Ricay and then messes with Jamar and Michee again (sending them back to us please!) but why would Tamplin and HW have had it in for MUFC for goodness sake? What did we ever do to them? Why didn't they target Dover or Ebbsfleet?

Same reason refs don't like us? Are we cursed? Exorcisms anyone? And no, you don't have to be Jewish.

As much as I like Cassidy as an all-round striker, he's not exactly a goal machine. In fact, i think that Mullins is on the same number of league goals as him - two? Not a goal machine, but a machine. Cassidy battled every moment he was here. He would be a fantastic buy.

I seem to remember people not being as tolerant of Delano, even though he never stopped battling. Maybe expectations are lower now.

Main difference as I see it is that Cass has more skill and guile on the ball than Mullings and DSY put together. On his day, DSY could be effective, he was certainly a willing runner but often he didn’t have the on the ball ability. Cass can hold defenders off very effectively and bring others into play. It’s his all round game that makes him a level above DSY and probably two levels above Mullings. He’s stronger than DSY too and possibly stronger than Mullings even though he’s smaller

In my view, his single greatest attribute is his desire to win and 100% commitment.

Good job his shooting ability isn't that good, otherwise he would probably never been on loan to the Stones at all, or playing for Hartlepool for that matter.

I response to the original title of the thread how about Jay Saunders? He may not have been able to take us further in NL back then but analysis if his NL record we would take that over today’s troubles!

Of course directors would have to eat humble pie and Jay would need a strong team around him but why not? If the Dealer can go home to the circus he was fired from as a hero after abject failure here why can’t Jay rebuild bridges and come back stronger having learned from his mistakes?

Most probably because of the reasons you state. That club is a circus run by a man who should never be allowed near a football club again. He's gone back 6 months after being sacked by text message. If his standards are that low to go back to that then he really is desperate for another chance. Tamplin pibkically humiliated him yet he goes back.

Sadly Jay would have half the support 'The Jay Out Brigade' on his back from the off if he returned.
A new man of reasonable pedigree would at least have all the support for a grace period.

Good point Rob. If Jay came back it would have to be with more than 50-50 support. Roll on the new man if reasonable pedigree - which could still be SW if the miracle of survival happens. Let’s see what happens today. COYS!

Come back Jay, Directors make him an offer that he couldn’t refuse. You know it makes sense!
