Thought it was a strange game - didn't actually think D&R looked very convincing at all and would have been disappointed with less than a win but we didn't look great either. However, a win is a win.
First 20 minutes were absolutely dire from both teams, just continually handing it back to each other but nothing of any substance in terms of goal threat. The first goal was a great move and shows how Paxman can pull out one piece of quality that is above anything else anyone can do. When the second went in, I thought it would be comfortable and we held the ball well. For the last 25 minutes, however, really struggled to hold the ball and, as above, the cover on the right seemed to have disappeared and it wasn't a surprise when they scored. From that point it was all a bit desperate. Having been lucky to be at the 2-0 a couple of seasons ago, what struck me was that in that game Prestedge completely marshalled the team and we managed to keep control, whereas last night the major idea at the end seemed to head the corner flag and hope to keep it there.
On players, Turgott looks twice the player he was last season - the second goal was an excellent finish given the angle and number of players between him and the goal. Should have scored a third at the end, as well. Wynter did well when he came on and we didn't look like we missed WDH. Finney was on the edge of a sending off in the first half and was probably a bit lucky to stay on. Paxman showed flashes. Quigley worked hard and tried to hold on to the ball but he and Mullings do look a little isolated at times (as Quigley did on Saturday, I thought). Would agree that Seth was MoTM - works so hard and covers ground but not clear who was meant to be providing cover during the second half and he was exposed continually. Still not sure on Muldoon - at times he tries passes that look highly ambitious to say the least, but hoping that he can stay fit and see more of him.

Sadly I was limited to listening but for those that attended how did Pax get on overall? Good first pass to Quigley which led to Turgotts goal. I was worried about the frequency of the crosses getting in, were these mostly from Seths side as it seemed? Seth was my MoTM. Considering how many times he had two, and occasionally three, Dagenham players to contend with he had an excellent game. I was just commenting how exposed he was again down our right when they crossed the ball, from there, to score.
Despite the comments on here about Quigley I thought Mullings looked better. Won more headers and held the ball more when it came up to him.
Quigs set up both goals!

Quigs set up both goals! Not intentionally!
The second was a shot - looked mis-hit to me - that rolled off the post for Turgott to make something of.

Yes how awful he was to dribble by three players, get a shot in and hit the post.

Where did I say anything about Quigley being "awful" or indeed anything negative* about his performance? I expressed an opinion that I thought Mullings was better, specifically in his heading and hold-up play.
It should be possible to express an opinion as to the relative merits of players without stating (or implying) ((or even thinking)) that one had a bad game.
* OK, its arguable that my reply about the mis-hit could be construed as a negative comment. Mis-hit or not it wasn't a deliberate pass or attempt to put Turgott in on goal.

Yes we were a tad unlucky but, if you can't shoot straight you've got no chance. In the end our keeper made two great saves to keep us in it. Health wise ok thanks, I was however told yesterday that I have to go back in again for two more stents within the next two weeks.

I don't really know, I was watching it unfold. I was trying to get on the pitch to help Ashmore out, but some of the lads was holding me back. I think that Clay followed through on Ashmore during the game, and Ashmore said something to him at the final whistle. Then the rest of the players wanted to join in, I believe it was said a punch was thrown by an Orient player, but I didn't see anything. It's a pity it didn't hit the referee, just when you think they can't get any worse, another one comes along.

Know what you mean about refs, but feel the linos have an awful lot to answer for, the amount of times the linos watch the ball go out and then look at the ref waiting for the ref to make a decision before motioning with their flag what to give. They are supposed to be assistant referees but they leave the man in the middle in the lurch far too often. When you say punch, do you mean a proper punch or one of them premier league footballer punches that wouldn't knock over a leaf.

Back on topic... it was mentioned we were lucky to win on Tuesday. We've just had two seasons of throwing away points by conceding late equalisers, "being unlucky" to drop points and ending up in the relegation fight. A season of getting some luck, from bounces and referee decisions, would be nice. That handful of extra points that put us 10th instead of 18th... oh well, I can dream...
