You've already made yourself look like a fool several seasons ago with your 'upstairs' comments! You then tried to make it look like a joke! You will again expose yourself for the fool you undoubtedly are! You want my opinion on the remaining fixtures? Ok, I believe we will stay up, if we don't I'll get over it because we have come far further than I thought we would and Jay Saunders has taken us further than most managers have done since I started supporting this club back in the early 70's This has indeed been a crap season but you and several of over 'dummy spitters' wailing on is not going to change anything If we go down, and it's still a bit if, 2000plus supporters will be at our first game in the NL south and I hope Jay is still the manager Why? Because we ain't Premier League, 5 season of success against 1 season of failure does not mean the sack However, if he reads some ( we'll about half a dozen) on here I wouldn't blame him if he walked! Careful what you wish for He doesn't need to "expose himself" Tim (a truly horrible image!), most of us already know what he is. We aren't going down, but, as you say, even if we did, 2,000+ of us will be at the first NS home game, cheering on the team - and Jay. Football support isn't an option - you either support your club, come what may, or you f**k off and support some plastic side. Otherwise what's the point?

Now we've all had a chance to calm down and reflect, this is what actually happened today:
We got our first point in four games.
We kept the first clean sheet in five games.
Everybody in the bottom 'half' of the table moved up a point
- except Orient, Hallifax and Solihull, who moved up 3
- and Barrow, Torquay and Chester, who stayed where they were
We are one point further away from relegation than we were before today's game
Of the four teams who can technically get past us, two lost and one drew
All in all, not a bad day.

Anyway, getting back to the point, Guiseley, we now know that Luer didn't play because he was ill. After yesterday's performance, we must hope that Prestedge can play two good games on the bounce, because we'll need more of the same at Solihull, where another 0-0 wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. However, given Turgott's increasing profligacy in front of goal and his lack of any appetite to 'get stuck in', I can't see the point of either him or Loza in a defensive line up. At least Lafayette and Sam-Yorke offer defensive support. As for Tuesday, can we grind out another 0-0? Or, if we concede, who is going to get an equaliser? That is what continues to mystify me about our team selection. The back eight should be able to defend, but when are we going to see if someone else can score goals?

To me the most likely goalscorers I have seen are Lafayette and Loza because they do attempt to shoot. When I read that sentence back I feel fairly pessimistic about our chances of scoring goals. The next most likely scenario seems to be one of our centre backs getting enthusiastic at a corner and scrambling the ball home. When read that sentence back I feel a greater sense of pessimism.

Given that this is a forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion. I don't like this character assassination from certain contributors. I have been supporting this club from the London Road days even if only in spasm as my work commitments didn't allow me to go to matches as often as I have been since returning to the town. I agree that we have had a great time to achieve this recent success and maybe we have been too used to see us roll over other clubs to reach the level we are now at. This season promised much after an excellent start but too many poor performances and no ability to win matches have left a few of us disheartened with the overall showing of the team. I am a human being and take exception to be called a fool because I view my opinion as everyone is entitled to do. Mr.HNA whoever you are as I don't know you, I wish that you wouldn't treat me as an inferior person.

How can you desert a team for 20 years and then post something about supporting your club come what may? You couldn't make it up. Not sure why you were having a pop at Tim though. He can be an advertising board smashing hoolie at times but he is alright really.

Much as I like to see us score goals, it's (very) arguable at the moment that what we most want is not to let them in. Grind out another couple of goaless draws and we are safe almost whatever happens. That's no one's idea of football, but if it keeps us up, then it's what we have to do. If we 'accidentally' win one of those, then fine, then we can attack like maniacs for the reaining games, but survival first has to be the only way at the moment. For all the carping on here, Jay's selection/tactics on Saturday earned us a valuable (possibly crucial) point.

A pretty grim spectacle between two poor sides short on confidence, on a ropey old pitch that did everything to hinder good passing or shooting opportunities.
There definitely felt like a creeping sense of urgency (or desperation?) in the second half, culminating in the two strikes against the woodwork from Turgott and Anderson.
Turgott seems to be getting some stick on here but it seems to me only partially his fault - he sees so little of the ball because so much of the play in my mind revolved around our right hand side, and the runs of Twumasi. I wonder whether Turgott would be more effective through the middle as part of a 4-4-1-1 or 4-2-3-1 where he can make more direct runs and pick up the ball in midfield and run at players.
One thing felt obvious - a definite lack of confidence in some players - Twumasi excepted - to run at players and try and beat them. A lot of passes played when the recipient of the pass is not necessarily in a better position than they were.
Delano and Lafayette worked hard but in truth they just weren't getting many opportunities or good service.
Worrying - given that the number of games to pick up points is running out and the confidence levels seem to be on the floor.
