Put it this way, I'd have been livid if that was given against us.

Overall I thought Maidenhead shaded the game but we had slightly the better chances so a draw was a fair result. Very subdued atmosphere from our lot and it was defo a penalty for us at the end. I would say that it was not a penalty at the end. The ref was incorrect to book Lewis. He simple lost his footing. It may have been his subsequent claim for a penalty that got him booked though. I have not changed my mind since seeing it as there is contact.

Definitely looks like contact - and it certainly wasn't 'simulation', he didn't make a meal of it, he just tripped, or was tripped, and went down.
Listening to Stones Live, it sounded like Maidenhead bossed most of the game and we were lucky to get a point, but from the highlights (chosen by them, not us), it looked pretty even, but with us having the better chances. All we had to do was convert just one of those near-misses!
And that pitch must be the best advert for 3G I've seen in ages - what's it going to be like in February? The NL/EFL shouldn't be pissing about worrying about 3G, they should be setting high standards for ALL pitches. Why do we have to justify our superb pitch, when ploughed fields like that are allowed at National level??

By your own admission you weren’t at the game so how could you tell how bad the pitch was by seeing in the 720p highlights as opposed to real life? It’s just a lame excuse for another piss poor performance, they wouldn’t have scored on the 3G pitch inside York Road either.

Lee Worgan in the NLP's 'National League team of the day' - no surprises there.... National leagues goalkeeper of the day Goalkeeper: Carl Pentney (Maidenhead) It was a shoot-out between the Maidenhead and the Maidstone keeper for the Team of the Weekend - Pentney gets the nod after a string of impressive saves.

And I wasn't excusing our performance, I was making a comment about 3g v mud pitches.

The pitch didn't spoil the game though.

The pitch didn't spoil the game though. Probably because it was frozen!

Lewis was already on his way down before contact was made. 100% not a penalty

I have not changed my mind since seeing it as there is contact. Being wrong on one occasion is a bit silly but being wrong after a period of reflection a second chance to view in slow motion and guidance from an 'expert summariser' is just plain embarrassing for you.

re: the Lewis penalty shout. Ref only sees it once, and in real time from behind the goal I thought there was minimal contact.
He didn't seem to get many plaudits but I thought Piggot's general play at Maidenhead was outstanding, he did everything but score, held the ball up really well etc.

I am beginning to worry about you nws ! There was contact, Lewis was brought down, it was a 100% penalty. View the incident again but I suggest you put your specs on this time Given we are approaching the season for miraces, I guess there's a slither of a chance you will admit to being wrong.

Its all about opinions. Personally I'm not persuaded either way even with the video replay, which the referee doesn't get. Based on my opinion Lewis was unlucky to get a booking because I can't see how the referee was 100% certain it was simulation anymore than he could be 100% certain it was a foul.

Would love to be able to feel robbed of the 2 points but can't on this occasion.
