Great win.
Chester were cynical and set up for a draw but I suppose when you’re struggling like they are, you do that away from home.
They won as many headers as I’ve seen a side do against us.
Thought we went too long too early and too often but that’s being ultra critical as it’s been a tough week with the 2 away games.
Red made some Finney decisions but I dont think he was that bad. As for the Melee near the end, he did book DSY and also Finney who came running in and pushed a City player away (peace keeping).

If only we could start thinking up some puns around other names.

So, Chester got what they deserved. A piss poor side who only stayed in the game because of one of the most inept referees seen at the Gallagher since Ryman days. No surprise he completely lost control midway through the second half and how Chester finished with 11 men is anyone's guess. Stones light years ahead, but dragged down to Chester's level at times. Still, as before this season, we play to the last minute and Hines deserved his winner. Lewis, Twumasi and Hines worked hard throughout and once again the back four seemed rarely in trouble. Loza disappointing when he came on and looked well off the pace. Three points against a stubborn team not interested in playing football a good result, even if it was a bit late. Sums the match up nicely. we got the 3 points deserved in the end, but what a battle, what poor decisions and the antics on the pitch. I trust the mistaken identity issue is dealt with appropriatly.

That melee, which was entirely Chester's fault, ended up with just a single yellow for them, but TWO for us! OK, there was a lot of handbags going on, but the standard of refereeing and assisting was awful. He came horribly close to losing the game completely.

We have it very good at the moment. Good blend of abilities, plenty off the bench, some graft and a great management team

also Finney who came running in and pushed a City player away (peace keeping). Ah, an ally. That appears to be two votes each for and against mistaken identity !
Damn. Said I was going to wait for the video - and now I've gone and spoilt it.

I'll await the video before issuing any apology, if necessary ! You've made me doubt my eyesight now, but a lot of the people around me thought the same. We are all getting on a bit so you could be right. Just to put both your minds and eye sight to rest, both players were involved, however DSY walked away when the ref walked over

However, you have broken the messageboard rule that Dave U is incorrect. Please amend as necessary

A bit worried that we struggled yet again against a side that worked hard and closed us down all over the park. From where I was standing nobody had a great game but nobody had a bad one either EXCEPT that the two Alex's (with Josh and Seth's help) restricted Chester to a handful of chances and generally looked very solid Agree ref was terrible today Chester came for a point and nearly got it. Poor and one sided referring is partly why we struggled. There number 4 James a complete disgrace and a head case he should get a lengthy ban

My wife and daughter were waiting by the car at county hall at ten to five. For some reason they prefer to go shopping to watching the stones. They said the roar they heard when we scored sounded like they were in the ground with us! 😀

For me Delano I’m particular was trying to diffuse and save the joke that is James from getting a red, and for his efforts he gets booked. The ref made a howler of a decision not to give a corner early in the game to is and everyone protested from that moment he was biased against us.
