So, Chester got what they deserved. A piss poor side who only stayed in the game because of one of the most inept referees seen at the Gallagher since Ryman days. No surprise he completely lost control midway through the second half and how Chester finished with 11 men is anyone's guess. Stones light years ahead, but dragged down to Chester's level at times. Still, as before this season, we play to the last minute and Hines deserved his winner. Lewis, Twumasi and Hines worked hard throughout and once again the back four seemed rarely in trouble. Loza disappointing when he came on and looked well off the pace. Three points against a stubborn team not interested in playing football a good result, even if it was a bit late. Finney scored the winner. Unfortunate to get a yellow as well, case of mistaken identity. Mistaken identity - I don't think so. Other referees may have shown a red. Ran to join the melee, raised both hands and pushed a player away. Could have ended very badly !

Either way, the ref clearly could not identify blue shirts from amber ones. So many really poor decisions. Funny was indeed superb throughout.

When will players learn that time wasting rarely works. If their goalie had changed his boots at half time rather than waiting to do it during the second half the game would have been over before we scored.

Pretty sure it was Delano but can’t be surprised that the ref got it wrong when he and his assistants were so poor throughout. Shocking display....in any other job they would be subject to disciplinary 😀

A bit worried that we struggled yet again against a side that worked hard and closed us down all over the park.
From where I was standing nobody had a great game but nobody had a bad one either
EXCEPT that the two Alex's (with Josh and Seth's help) restricted Chester to a handful of chances and generally looked very solid
Agree ref was terrible today

Ref was absolutely appalling - thought he was going to lose the game completely half way through the second half. Attrocius for this level.
Chester came for a draw and got what they deserved. Lovely goal too, one of those you can see coming. If only we could do that more often!!
Chester's game plan was thuggery and time wasting. They had no attack at all and didn't even defend very well. If we could actually convert some of our chances, we would have stuffed them. Talking to some of their fans afterwards they seemed to think this was a typical performance for them. If that's true, then they will be playing in the NN next season.

So, we are 5th, with a game in hand, which would have seemed like a fantasy this time last season. But, had Chester's ridiculous time wasting worked and the game had finished two minutes earlier we would be down around 12th, with everybody moaning about us not being able to score.
Fickle football tarts that we are, we went from exactly that frame of mind (judging from the comments around me) to amnesic ecstacy in seconds!
OK, so we deserve a bit of luck occasionally, and we certainly worked for it, but we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that for 96 minutes we were unable to score against a side as bad as Chester. With the quality of players we've got, this is utterly baffling, but somehow Jay needs to sort this out.

I'm appalled that we took so long to score. It is not good enough

Defensively I thought we were very good but up against a team hell bent on playing for a draw there was not many tests for our defenders. It,s damn hard to get past a team so defence minded, however on the bright side, we still got 3 points without being brilliant, so let,s count our blessings, and move onwards an upwards to the next challenge.

Don't be silly. We couldn't score until late and we are not romping this league of mediocrity and ineptitude. Jay should resign and the whole team should give all the fans their money back before being transferred to Hastings. It's not good enough!
