I originally posted a perfectly reasonable question, in response to which I have been subjected to insults, abuse and what I can only describe as bullying. If that was your way of getting me to donate, it's had quite the opposite effect. I certainly don't give in to the overbearing behaviour of people who think it's acceptable to insult and abuse someone they don't know and have never even met. Intention - to attempt to provoke an argument. Followed up by a claim of victimisation when said argument occurs. Tut, tut....shocking behaviour. I think you should be chucking in a pony, at least, for such behaviour. Stop being a tightwad, arm-waving mainstander Please tell me how my original question was an intention to provoke an argument. Anyone could have easily answered it with one sentence, but instead most decided to be confrontational and insulting.

Initially the question was reasonable but it is the follow up that leads me to believe there is an intention to provoke a negative response and act the victim. In the middle of this thread there is a perfectly reasonable response to your question yet you are too busy acting affronted to even note it. Furthermore you complain of abuse and then resort to it yourself. I think your intentions to provoke the Springfield End and then claim they are nasty bullies against the arm-waving mainstanders is clear for everyone to see. Disgraceful. Now stop being silly, admit you were trying to provoke, chuck a score in the flag fund and move on.

I came back on here to see if there was a total update but I suspected that the new posts were just going to be Dave U and someone arguing over the wording of that question he asked. I was right.
Grow up. The same 3 or 4 people ruin and derail almost every thread on this board.

The total is £370. I was grown up enough to search the info out by going to the link in the thread entitled 'Donations for a new banner for the north stand'. However, I suspect you logged in to be affronted by people making three or posts on a thread.

My follow up was a perfectly natural response to the confrontational replies to my original post, so it was them that provoked the argument, not me. I also noted the one reasonable response, but it did nothing to prevent the usual suspects continuing their unprovoked attack on me. As for donating, why should I? What's wrong with people buying their own flags if they want to? Out of 2500 odd supporters there are probably a couple of dozen at the most who have contributed yet I'm the only one who's being told to contribute and accused of being a tightwad and a killjoy because I won't.

There is something very odd about the way you seem revel in being depicted as a tight fisted skinflint

I consider myself to be careful with money or to put it another way "a tight fisted skinflint".
Any chance I can share some of the adulation?

I think it should be made clear that when Dave applauds, as well as not, in any way, clapping the away supporters, he is also definitely NOT applauding any banners or flag.
Dave's clapping will be entirely uni-directional.

it is most helpful of nws to post on this thread and join in the disparaging comments about a particular Stones skinflint who shall remain nameless
however the words of nws would carry greater credibility if an individual named of Adrian or similar was included in the list of financial contributors

Slight flag aside....i recall a flag from our Ryman Prem days about Steve Ward, emblazoned "Gingembre" or similar. Whose was it and what happened to it? Thought it was absolute genius.

Was Gooch's.
Senior club officials didn't approve so it was limited to away games.
Assume it's under his bed now.

so why are you bothering to post on this thread ?
given that the only point of the thread is to publicise and provide a means of helping a group of real fans with the financing of flags and banners at both home and away matches
Go Fund Me allows contributors to be named or remain anonymous
of course it's personal choice, just a bit weird that some individuals feel the need to publicise the point that they won't be helping out
personally I am happy to see fans supporting the fund raising which has now reached £385 against an initial target of £300, now increased to £500
