Anyone know how are attendance compares against the first few games of last season? (or know how to find out?)
I've had a swift shoofty, but can't find any way of finding out (and my extensive collections of programmes is 1,000 miles away!).

Cant compare this season to last seasons fairly as we had Wealdstone at home first game of the season who probably bought 300 fans with them, and were the best supported team in the league after us,the first three games at home this season we have seen about 30 away fans from all the games.

Also, didn't this season start a week earlier, which would have probably reduced the attendance for the first game even more.

Some details of home attendances as follows:
2014 / 2015:
9 Aug ( Sat ) v Met Police 1,556 19 Aug ( Tue ) v Hampton & Richmond 1,473 23 Aug ( Sat ) v Bury Town 1,687
2013 / 2014:
10 Aug ( Sat ) v Wealdstone 2,138 20 Aug ( Tue ) v Bill n Ricay 1,746 24 Aug ( Sat ) v Lewes 1,659
Basically supports what pmh say's. The key is to compare the two games on 23/08/2014 & 24/08/2013. We got a slightly larger attendance yesterday than one year ago whilst playing ( with all due respects to Bury Town ) a less fancied team. No worries, keep winning and people will keep turning up.

... I t may also be due to the fact that "We are still in the middle of the Summer holidays" for a few of us ... I'm not , but there are a few who are !!... and "The Stonnettes" have yet to make an appearance, as well as "Iggy" our mascot !! ... He's only been there once so far this season ... Wouldn't it be a good idea to put up posters in the town and surrounding villages to advertise the games too ? ... Does the club visit schools and promote all the goods that they do on the pitch, I believe that the stadium is used by a few of them, and we must get a revenue out of it, but nevertheless a few more kids, who after all are bound to be in term ... "the next generation" of our supporters ... and would add the the vocal support too !! ... recently, apart from the "Townenders" ... they will always be very vocal !! ... the place is "buzzing" with a large crowd, but is mutted in term of vocal support. We always seem to "bulge the coffin" of the "home" teams when we travel away, so maybe to encourage their supporters that have had a long journey when visiting our place, wouldn't it be a good idea to reduce their entry fee ?!? ... more away supporters, would counteract that revenue !!.

League rules state same fee for all you cant charge home or away fans more or less.
Another big factor at the moment is the two games a week.Looking at the fixtures we would have played 8 league games in the school summer holidays ,this has to be a first, coupled with ,so many being away on holidays.
Lets not panic it will even out ,a couple of weeks time the holidays will be done and dusted and we will play a couple of teams who have a few fans.

August bank holiday is also the weekend when many people go away for a long weekend, so there is that to account for too.......

Something wrong there, JDL, aren't your programmes the number one item to save from a fire, even before the wife? They should always be to hand!

Something wrong there, JDL, aren't your programmes the number one item to save from a fire, even before the wife? They should always be to hand! Not convinced my wife would see it that way... Actually, I don't always buy a programme these days, as my main reason for getting one is the team sheet - but if we're too late to hear the team announcements, I don't bother. (I'm still struggling to recognise many of the players - hence my appeal for squad numbers!) But in the old days, back at London Road, I used to buy a programme every game (bit silly really, as most of the programme was the same each week!) and I kept most of them. I've even got the one that was never issued for the Weymouth game where the match was cancelled due to Weymouth's team going on strike. As this was, as far as I know, the first time this had ever happened (at least in the UK), I'm hoping one day it will be worth something. But I suspect I'm hoping in vain...

Thanks porkystone. I wasn't actually implying anything about our attendance (as I had no idea what the figures for last year were!), I was just interested in the comparison. I was as surprised as most people when we got the attendances we did in our first season at the Gallagher (especially as I remember only too well all those years at London Road, with a few hundred of us scattered around the terraces), and was very interested to see what would happen in the second season when the novelty wore off. So it was really good to see the figures holding up last season and even improving. But attendances at football games are affected by so many factors, that I still don't feel secure that we are going to keep getting such large gates. So, thinking that the figures looked a bit low for the first few games, I wondered if they actually were - and if so, why? When you think how important the attendance at games is for the future of the club (not just cash-flow and atmosphere, but things like planning for the future), it must be a nightmare for the owners, never knowing exactly why the figures vary from week to week, or whether a good crowd this season will guarantee the same next season.

Not sure we have too much to worry about on that front, the league a above us had 4 gates under 300 on Saturday with Wealdstone having the second highest with 619.
We also had a higher gate than 7 games in the conference prem.

I never imagined that Maidstone away supporters were so aggressive........ french aka junior... and to say you picked up on wee Ant on another thread about spelling..... atrocious as they say .....

There's a little spelling mistake like I seem to have made in the squad.
Then there's just changing the word so a sentence makes no sense.
You couldn't invent such hypocrisy.

This is still bugging me - it certainly feels like attendances are down this season.
So I dug out one of last season's programmes to check.
Attendances for first 7 home games last season (league games only):
2138 1746 1659 1775 1935 1517 2041
And for this season:
1566 1473 1687 1511 1646 1347 1801
So, yes, apart from one game, attendances are down this season - by an average of 254 per game (14%). By today's game, we had lost (compared to last season) 1,780 attendances - equivalent to a good home attendance for one game (and, at a guess, £15,000+). That's a lot to be losing.
So, why?? We're playing much better football, we're regularly winning at home (not drawing like we were last year!), we're scoring some great goals, we have players who are worth paying £10 to watch just on their own, we have been top of the league practically all season, we're looking very good to gain promotion, even win the league, and the weather has been excellent.
Is it the new Town End burger bar???
