Maybe they want to discuss the high level of toilet rolls they've been using recently?

Is that a carefully orchestrated series of statements and actions being played out in public?

Maybe the FA have told the Conference they plan to re-write the rules at steps 1 and 2.The knock on effect gets the football league involved and both leagues want a meeting to confirm with the FA their protests against 3G pitches.OR it's good news and the conference are finally realising they have a weak argument in the long term.

Well the Conference must really feel up against it. Standing up to Tha FA and UEFA with only the support of half(??) their members which include a few jealous Kent Football Clubs whose vote against us is purely personal and nothing to do with the 3G pitch.

From the Conference website: At meeting on 3rd April the Football Conference Board discussed a letter sent on 2nd April to its chairman Brian Lee by the chairman of the Football Association, Greg Dyke, concerning the use of artificial turf pitches.
The Conference Directors unanimously agreed to seek a joint meeting as soon as possible with representatives of the Football Association and the Football League to discuss matters of common interest relating to the use of artificial surfaces.
The Conference will issue a further statement once that meeting has taken place.
Now - what do we make of that As things stand without knowing the thoughts of the directors going into this meeting nothing has really changed. I can understand why you think this is good news but it most certainly isn't and until anything changes nothing will change

FA ain't going to meet with Conf and FL just to talk about the weather. They got to be meaning business here. This will lead to something positive like allowing 3G in Conf in next few weeks. This is amazing the speed at which it's all moving now. Unbebloodylievable! Gonna get drunk!

I find it amazing how so many fans of conference clubs describe our attitude as "bullying tactics" when it comes to 3G and how once the vote went against us we should have just accepted the decision rather than "thrown our toys out the pram"
What a wonderful world these people live in where rules aren't challenged ever and common sense is not something that should be encouraged.
Unless they can put their hand on a bible and swear they have never broken or challenged any rule then I don't think their argument really stacks up.
We chose to have a 3G pitch because we chose to have a sustainable community football club, and we had reason to believe our FIFA approved pitch would be good enough for non league football in the apparent home of football.....
But rules are rules and nobody should ever question that.....

I believe from recent press reports ( can't remember exactly where ) the FA wrote to the FL asking them to review their position.

Oh dear, just noticed Chelmsford "sterile, can't pay players wages" City have dropped into the relegation zone of Conf South.
Perhaps their chairman may be forced to watch his team compete in a boring, non sliding tackle, five a side game next season if we don't go up
