We really should have been out of sight by soon after half time.
We had very few real chances - where a 'chance' is defined as "a move towards goal that in any club that had half decent players and knew what it was doing could be reasonably thought to be likely to lead to a goal or decent save".
We huffed and we puffed and we passed very neatly - mostly sideways and backwards - we even got on the end of two or three decent punts forward. But we rarely got anywhere near the point where I lean forward and get ready to leap out of my seat shouting incoherently. The longer we failed to add a second, the more it looked like HHT would break through our gradually less effective defence and cancel out 2 points - or even all three.
It's no accident that we're not able to get above 3rd and are only just hanging on to a play-off place (if Bath and H&R win and draw their two games in hand, we're down to 7th - with as many as 7 other clubs breathing down our necks).
