Back of a fag packet completely made up financial calculations:
FA prize money: £231,375 Gate receipts: £140,000 TV money: £150,000 Amantchi: £10,000 TOTAL = £531,375
New pitch: £200,000 New gantry: £20,000 New toilets: £30,000 Control box: £30,000 Relegation: £150,000 TOTAL = £430,000
If we lose to Ipswich, total surplus = £101,375. If we win or draw…

That new gantry (if that's what that explosion of scaffolding is) is quite a bit larger than I expected.

The Ash out geniuses were singing “sold Amantchi, bought a gantry”, ignoring the facts we had no choice to sell him, and the gantry is a new requirement for the league. As if Oliver is plotting his evil deeds from his new control centre. Although it does free up valuable real estate in the main stand. Should probably move the fence to enclose it within the stadium grounds.

There are rumors abound that should we win on Saturday there will be a match fixing enquiry and if both sides are found guilty then Everton will be deducted a further 10 points.

Should we win swordy by 2 clear goals, then yours truly is going to make a nice few quid. It doesn't look obvious but what the heck. He who dares wins and all that. So Ipswich have lost just once at Portman Road this season and that was last August. And Stones have had a poor run of away form recently. BUT Ipswich has a shocking record at this stage of the competition, having been eliminated in 9 of their last 10 appearances in the FA cup 4th round. Not convinced ? Well I've only placed a tenner, so it won't be life changing, either way.

Over 27000 tickets sold by tonight as said, so really good atmosphere for Saturday unlike when we went to an empty pin could drop mk dons, and cash for the club aswell

Felt like Barnet. In fact I can't really separate the two in my memory - even though the stadiums are quite different. Must be the location and total lack of atmosphere. It wasn't just the lack of fans - for instance, Orient had the same lack of fans, but that was OK. Especially with added squirrel! (And, before anyone says it, I know Barnet and Orient weren't Cup games!)

Chris Sutton's prediction page on BBC Sport has us losing 3-0 (a lot better than Swansea!), though his two 'celebrity' (never heard of them) guests have us winning, bless them.
