How is this for a rumour ? Big George for the Birmingham job. Maybe that's why he is freeing up funds to give to his successor. I would be amazed. Also is freeing up funds for a successor a thing?

Probably much to do with the transfer window and hoping to scratch a few itches. As long as they concentrate and follow instructions, the defence is ok at the moment, even having a degree of cover for injuries and suspensions. In midfield, we could do with some creative sparkle, having been unable to replace either of what Booty or Luque offered. Up front, Rush works hard and has an eye for goal, but needs somebody to work with. You'd think Sol would do that, but isn't consistent enough. We got very lucky with Levi, who came good at the right time and finding another rarely happens twice in quick succession. Thinking about it, maybe we just need to shoot more? Indeed, attempts on goal, let alone on target, have been few and far between, yet we have players who can welly it - Bone, Corne, Appiah to name but three. Maybe if they had a go more often, the need for an out and out striker would diminish?

Maybe if they had a go more often, the need for an out and out striker would diminish? Isn't that exactly what we've been doing recently? Didn't notice it working too well... With Amantchi lurking up front, we could get goals just by getting the ball forward as often as possible. But with the smallest player on the pitch as our sole forward, that just isn't going to work - we need to play the ball to him, and we just don't happen to have the talent to do that at the moment. Or, better still, not play with just one, tiny, bloody forward! As for wellying it - that always looks good when it works, but 99 times out of a hundred it doesn't, and then you've just wasted what could have been a goal-earning pass.

Fair enough, but my point is we are barely shooting at all and if you don't buy a ticket, you'll never win the lottery.

Jordan Greenidge ? His bother kept him under wraps. But Worth 25 goals a season in a Stones shirt
