If it's Port Vale, You may get Robbie Williams singing Let me entertain you at half time. If its Stevenage, they will want revenge from their last embarrasing visit to Maidstone. Couldn't give a cats poo who it is as long as its a good game and we go for it I'm pretty sure we will! Excepting Yeovil hitting a bad patch and us getting a decent shot at the championship (or a run in the Tropy all the way to Wembley*...), this is likely going to be our biggest game this season. (*tongue in cheek)

This draw is a bit like my bank account with zero interest. I feel sorry for the management and players, all that hard work and effort for a shit draw like this must be a bit soul destroying. Still the third round - first time in 35 years, though. And there's still Barnet to come. You miserable old bugger! I'm only voicing what 90% of people think but can't be bothered or are too afraid to say it. As for Barnet away it's a bit cold for a strip search on your way in but be my guest.

I think your reaction is more extreme than most. While disappointing, it’s an opportunity (all be it long odds) to progress. The gap between us is no bigger than last time we played Stevenage so either them or Port Vale is a winnable tie, another 100k in the pot and the chance of one of the big boys in round 4. I may be wrong but I’d guess most of us aren’t quite as dismissive as you.

You sure ? It used to be done on the radio in those days around 5 pm on a Saturday. You’ll be old enough to remember that. I still do. You might be right, but I remember watching balls being drawn out of a bag or container of some sort. And 88 isn't that far away! No I’m probably wrong, just teasing your long term memory. I didn’t have a TV so had to listen to radio.

It's a godawful draw and a real kick in the bollocks for the club after doing so well yesterday, even Ramsgate got a good draw when they beat Wimbleshite tomorrow.

That would surely be a deliberate action, this was just the luck of the draw. Sometimes you have to take what you get and make the best of it. Is it disappointing? Yes. But at the end of the day it’s a chance to progress and a possible TV game, not to mention more national publicity, which we haven’t done too badly out of this time.

I suspect the feeling amongst most supporters is somewhere between the two of you. You do after all represent two extremes on the forum. We have daveu being perpetually positive and optimistic, seeing everything through a black and amber tint. Whereas with swordy, he is just the miserable old git personified, whose glass is nearly always empty.

We’ve come so far on this amazing journey.
If we want a big club in the fourth round, we’re going to have to win one more game.

On our day we can beat anyone, including man shitty. And if Bivesh can show Corndog how he used to bang in the goals from the edge of the box instead of faffing around trying (and failing) to pass to someone on the goal line, we can go places

It is life that has kicked us in the bollocks Dave and there is nothing random about life,it either loves you or hates you and there is no in-between and with that draw life has shown that it hates us. I though should be used to that as life has shown its utter contempt for me since I can remember which is why I try to hate it back and if that,as said elsewhere, makes me a miserable old sod with an empty glass then so be it.

Seems like a pretty fair description to me.
Just when I was thinking 'happy days are here again'.
No need to ask who is your favourite character in Dicken's Christmas Carol !
Bah, humbug.

It’s a similar reaction, from me, to the last draw. Uninspiring but you never know, we may be able to put another performance in to challenge. Would be a massive shock though, especially if it was Stevenage.
I reckon there’s a good chance of TV as it will be perceived as a chance of an upset.
