Apparently there is a Barrow in Alaska that borders the Arctic.

There's a Barrow in my back garden full of broken bricks.

Looking at some of our travelling yoof (at Oldham in particular last season) you'd think so yes. I particularly enjoyed the irony of their singing songs about the impoverished north when Oldham is actually - by several measures - just a little bit more affluent than Maidstone I know it's generally just banter. Talking about inappropriate or ironic chants, when we played Woking in the FA cup in 2009 I found “the wheels on your house go round and round” highly amusing consider the number of high end properties we passed. Song only really approriate for Sheppey United. (puts on tin helmet) Or Gillingham as NWS points out

Barrow fan in peace,
Hello you Kentish types hope you enjoy a bumper crowd & enjoy the day/game but ultimately loose.
We are in superb form atm but we all know that ( Anything can happen on the day ) That said if we continue with our current form we should win through, We fully expect to play a fired up Stones & your form is good also so it’s anyone’s game.
Not sure how many will travel but I’d be surprised if we take the 300, Especially as we seem to be away more than home with the league fixtures & away in the cups & many will make do with 5 live commentary as they will save their money for a big away day in the 3rd Round ( fingers crossed ) Their words not mine.
Good luck with your promotion push & wish you zero luck this Saturday.

Nicely put barrabob.
Not often we Kentish types enjoy the visit of such a well known league club from the distant northlands.
So excited when we heard we were playing Barrow.
Its a big draw for us and the club can expect a bumper crowd for sure.
Great to hear that you are in such good form and may it long continue.
Such a shame that your visiting numbers will be so modest due to £££ problems.
Weather set fair for Saturday so you can leave your overcoats back home and enjoy our warm and sunny riviera type climate.
Pretty sure your boys will luv our plastic playing surface (sliding tackles not recommended)
Have a safe journey.

Both mate, A Barrow boy done well in Texas took over the club & invested a few Million on the infrastructure then he left as its was too difficult being several thousand miles away & he never wanted a penny back, A local consortium then took over and further investment came in & in Pete Wild we have arguably the best manager in L2 who has transformed the place.

You’re tongue is firmly in your cheek, But it’s all good, Yes we are a big draw for you 😛 After all it’s not everyday you enjoy a home vs a team 2 levels higher, But we’re still fairly humble, 48 yrs in the Non League leaves a deep impression so we are kinda giddy on one hand & pinching ourselves with the other.

Ah fair enough. Good to hear another club with solid foundations. I have heard Pete Wild is highly rated. I guess he will be mentioned when bigger jobs become available?

It never ceases to amaze me. “Somewhere like Barrow” (Ebbsfleet) gets investor after investor. We get lotto.
Ebbsfleet are the Barrow of the south.

What we need is a couple of local business men to 'invest' upwards of £2m in building us a top-notch new stadium, and then, when we race up through the leagues, thanks to their encouragement and generosity, they spend even more of their money on improving the ground and giving us our very own Kop. But we'd never be that lucky...

Already happens & will only get more & more exposure, We know he will move on to bigger things so we are enjoying every minute of it & building up the infrastructure as quick as we can so when the inevitable happens we will be in a solid position.
