Well due to popular demand, well one person ,and the fact that it'll probably piss Nws off I have moved this thread from the dusty vaults into the main section. I can get away with this because I frequently bet on Maidstone. For those that have not seen it before I start the season with a £200 pot and my aim is to reach £500 profit a feat I have managed many times but not in recent seasons. I rarely,if ever,bet more than £5 on any bet and i have a stop/loss amount of £200, I came very close to that last year after a record breaking losing streak but turned it round to bank £197 profit.Along the way I will drop the odd "saddo" fact in along with a few memories for instance on this date in 1979 I watched a friendly between Newcastle and Basle fc which finished 1-1.
You are welcome to comment at any time especially if you have a winner yourself. Anybody who has an objection to this being in the General section please say so and I'll move it back. The fun begins on August 1 until the end of the season or until I lose £200 whichever comes first.
WARNING : Betting is a mugs game and losses can get heavy if you are not careful so if you are tempted bet wisely and set yourself a stop/loss figure.

I read this thread occasionally and I'm pretty sure I commented occasionally. It's purists like Dave U, JDL and Grover who get upset by what's in where and need buttons to help them avoid things. I'd have it all in one big forum rather than several sections, most of which are ignored |

At the start of the season there is no form to study, these 3 are predicted purely on the 1st leg scores and the overall performances over the years. I do study form and don't necessarily look at the odds, pick the wins and the money takes care of itself. |

Indeed a bad start with just one right out of 3 but I have to go back to 2014 for the last time i got off to a winning start. I'll try a fourfold tomorrow and hope for a quick change of fortune . Scores on the doors after day 1 is Swordy £0 v Bookies £5. Long way to go yet😁

If there is one thing I truly detest is a bet going tits-up before 2 of the games have kicked off. Qarabag huffed and puffed but could not score a winner. As it stands I have predicted just 2/5games or 40% success rate. This will bankrupt me quicker than the Tories. Swordy £0 v Bookies £10.☹
Update: the other 2 came good so I have now predicte 4/7 a success rate of 57%. Will have to improve that to 70%+ for the money to arrive, never mind still early doors.

Just a few facts and figures.
Although this is only the 2nd season I have done this thread on the forum it is in fact the 22nd season I have been playing under this format.
In the previous 21 years I have hit the £500 profit target 12 times, less than £500 but still a profit 5 times, and comlete failures 4 timed.
My most profitable season was £3127.43 but thus included one win of £1,777.70.
The worst season I have had is a loss of £1835.96, it was this season that I decided to set my stop/loss at £200 and I have stuck to it ever since.
In total after 21 seasons I have an operating profit of £13,314.12 which works out at an average of £634 per season,not a fortune but I know thousands of people who would give their high teeth for such figures.
As I may have said elsewhere ,it's getting harder as more teams become more competitive ,the days of giving up even you are 2-0 down with 5 to go are over,good for entertainment ,bad for Swordy.
