I see you’ve signed George Porter. A very good player if you can’t keep him interested but that’s quite a big if. He's played for us before. Gavin Rose signed him 2 years ago and he was leading scorer in the relegation season. He divided supporter opinion. Some accused him of indiscipline and saw him as a prime symptom of everything that was wrong in a terrible season. Insiders said he was no trouble at all off the pitch or in the dressing room, but I think he may have ADHD or similar, as he gets distracted by the slightest incident during games and ends up shouting and waving his arms around for ages afterwards. He scored a vital late equaliser at Hungerford on the penultimate weekend, then got sent off in the final minute of stoppage time for swearing at the referee and was suspended for the crucial final game, when we needed a point to stay up and lost. Hak seemed to get the best out of him and wanted to keep him, but a few supporters really laid into him on social media and he was genuinely upset about it, so he went to Cray Wanderers instead. Personally I like him. He gets involved and makes things happen. He can score spectacular goals, but he also gets the scruffy ones from inside the six yard box. He's already scored in each of the first two friendlies against Fisher and Palace U21.

Chairman of Northern Premier League cub Prescot Cables has today slashed the agreed budget for this season resulting in management and assistants resigning and a number of players walking away from the club. Does not bode well for their future.

Woking in serious danger of going under after spending more than their means for 3-4 years.
American investors finally realising that they can't afford to prop up the shortfalls any more. One said he has pumped in £3.5m in the latest 3 years.
They have blamed not winning promotion, not having good cup runs and not getting the commercial revenue as budgeted.
WHEN WILL CLUBS LEARN - LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS. STOP CHASING THE DREAM. DO IT SUSTAINABLY.
Yet another day when I thank god for our owners and their approach.

Rumours reaching Swordy Towers that Stockton of the Northern League may have a new owner soon who wants to bring EFL football to the area in a bid to rival Middlesbrough . Oh dear,it'll end in tears.

You wonder how these successful businessmen became successful.
How does needing to inject over a £1m a year seem viable?
Does he think promotion is going to make his problems go away?
He cited lack of a cup run as a reason for their not covering costs.
Who is advising him

Rumours abound that John Terry and a few ex-pros will be putting a consortium together to buy them and “do a Salford”

Absolutely shocking. As reported, about £1 million a season annual subsidy and now the owner says "he can't afford it any longer". Apparently only a £600,000 loan from his parents to the club has enabled it to start the season. So Woking is up for sale for the bargain price of 1 pence although of course any new owner will have to pay back outstanding loans as well as subsidise running costs that are totally out of control. Not such a bargain after all.

It's crazy and what I am concerned about if investors ever come into the club. Short term gain, long term pain. We are a breakeven club and if we ever start to spend more than this, due to injections of cash, you are either setting yourself up for a fall or hoping it is a man with bottomless pockets like the Ebbsfleet guy (although i suspect he is sticking around for his payout from the developments),

An idiot and his money are soon parted. It's hard to credit just how stupid this bloke was. And here they are needing a loan just to start the season - having only just avoided relegation last season. Hello, NL - are you awake?
