Another factor is where the opposition is in the overall and form tables. Apart from Scunthorpe, we have struggled to break down teams near the bottom, probably because the way they set up, trying not to lose. Maidenhead played in a fairly open way - and certainly looked pretty shell shocked for a while after going two nil down. Perhaps we didn't give Oldham enough credit for doing such an effective job on us last week. Otherwise, I have no idea why we can be so much better seven days later.

Ref was appalling. Wasn't in the highlights but Reagan booked for one of the finest tackles you'll ever see. Their third goal, the player who took the throw in stole about 10 yards, but the ref was shit on that all game. Their left back consistently nicked about 10 yards for every throw in, then next time we had a throw the whole main stand encouraged George to Nick a few yards, and boy did he oblige, with about 30 yards with the ref watching him do it and not saying a word.

I said last week, Oldham were a lot better than their league position. One of the fastest at closing down I've seen this season. If they could hit a cows arse with a banjo they'd be top half easily.

We are very inconsistent. Those points we collected look so much better when we throw in a few wins.
The midfield 3 from yesterday is easily our best option at the moment. Add Deacon who is pretty consistent in making things happen, and Barham who is also very good. The key is to have a settled back four and we are half decent.

The whole team was much more on it yesterday. Deacs looked back to his best, Barham full of running and harrying defenders, George fanastic at RB. And yes the midfield three is much better now with Dom in there instead of Barkers !

I think it is fair to say that Greenidge is the only signing for this season who strengthened the team. Sandford is very probably an upgrade but he is only a loan. Galvin was obviously another good signing, but again only as a loan. Thats about it imo so just hoping that Joe Ellul will be fit again soon. Looks a decent team again but reminds me of last season.

Saturday 27th August, 1-0 v Torquay and the last time we won at home. Let's hope we don't have to wait as long for the next one.

Seems to me the team went backwards with new signings and the more of last season's team playing, it gets better.

Yer not wrong Rob.
I guess deep down Hak knows his summer player recruitment has been disappointing.
Greenidge is the only quality new permanent signing.
Still we are where we are and that is a better position than a month ago.
Tbh I still dont think we look mid table team and with a couple of the teams beneath us having games in hand, its going to be tough.
But the mood is lifting, performances have improved and we've got a half decent chance.
Woking this weekend ? Probably not, they look too strong atm.

Although I didn't go Saturday I take full credit for the victory as my tactics of betting on Maidenhead to win worked wonders.😁
