So - if I'm understanding the above correctly - we're looking at a very crowded stadium, with areas where away fans could outnumber home fans.
I've no idea what the reputation of Southend fans is, but, even if they're all angels, we have plenty of our own idiots.
I fail to understand the point of segregation if the club sells home tickets to away fans. Surely, when the club and police arrange these things, they give some thought to preventing away fans from buying home tickets?!
Or are they just hoping that a dozen odd stewards are going to be able to expell the hundreds of away fans in the home 'end' who suddenly reveal themselves when their first goal goes in?

I don't think they have given it any thought at all,how come away fans can pick tickets up on the night but home fans cannot or if home fans can why were we not told about it.

If 1900 Southend fans went to a shithole like Dover last season, then a similar number at the G tonight is not unreasonable - hence the need for all ticket. However, organisation doesn't sound great, especially if away fans are able to buy tickets for home areas. It only takes a few idiots on both sides for something to kick off, so keeping the back of the Genco properly segregated sounds like an important idea, at the least. Let's hope we have a good ref too. If anything is guaranteed to creative a febrile atmosphere, it's a dictator in black. Plus, if the Prediction League thread is anything to go by, nobody thinks we have much of a chance. All in all, a bit of a volatile cocktail, methinks.

Dorking were able to facilitate online ticketing last season, and their ground is a leisure centre with a 3G pitch out the back. They were even savvy enough to weed out the Maidstone fans buying tickets in the home end using postcodes local to Dorking to cheat the system. Yet supposedly we're operating a 1980's process of turn up and buy in person, despite having sold tickets online in the past. We've not won in 10 if we lost tonight (likely), so I hope the 2000 Southend fans in the home and away ends enjoy the win.

I'm rather glad I'm not going. I do remember having my own personal copper at Roots Hall as I was one of the supposed leaders of the famous Maidstine hooligan element, which to the best of my knowledge never actually existed🤣

I wonder if these admin problems have anything to do with office staff cuts...

I wonder if these admin problems have anything to do with office staff cuts... A little dicky bird told me that Mr Tosspot Simon Daniel has left things in shit state and the club are still trying to sort the mess out. This may or may not be the case but I know that Tosspot is factually correct.

Someone offered me a free ticket. Currently on the train over. All is forgiven MUFC, fantastic organisation all round.

Hope we stuff them 3-0 so all you refuseniks regret not going. As it happens I am not feeling well enough to go to Tonbridge tonight so hauling my fat arse to Maidstone would have been a definite no go and I would have lost my £19 which is one of the reasons I didn't buy a ticket.

Looking on social media, loads from both clubs looking for tickets. Does make us look a bit tinpot when we could have easily let in more and made a tidy sum into the bargain.

Looks like more Southend fans than home ones in the Genco and they are certainly making more noise...
