Mersin is not the reason we are losing but he has made errors for some of the goals. People acting like he hasn’t made any. 🤷🏼♂️ He also made a number of errors at Dover which is why he lost his place.

Hak
"We just can't deal with things in our own box"
I guess we need a keeper who commands the box. Tom did that pretty well last season.
Hak "They scored 3 goals inside our 6yd box"

If Mersin carries on in goal, at the current rate, we will concede 100 plus goals this season. So hard to believe Hadler lost his place at all. Based on what exactly ? Pre season friendlies - I dont think so. And so the farce goes on, goals being conceded by the shedful. Whilst our number 1 keeper from last season sits on the bench. Absolutely wacko. You couldn't make it up.

It sounds like a broken record now, but Mersin's communication with his back 4 seems no better with the passing of time. That height seems to count for nothing either when it comes to commanding the 6 yard box. All 3 Bromley goals were scored within the 6 yard box but thereagain there are another 17 to account for too. And so it goes on and on.

It's a tough league and you need a great keeper behind a great defence. Hadler was excellent and unflappable for us. He is your number 1, no question. That said I wouldn't swap our defence of ..........Cousins........ O'Neill..Solly..Hollis..Martin
for all the tea in China. That has the look of a L1 or L2 defence. All have played stacks of games at that level. It shows. Still in their prime, vastly experience and all proper ball playing defenders. No cloggers or route 1 merchants in that lot. Check out Poleon's goal on YouTube. A sublime, inch perfect pass from Hollis following a 26!!!! man passing phase.

Hak has persisted and persisted and persisted with Mersin. Surely the experiment has proven itself to be a failure. Hadler is absolutely proven what s good keeping he is through ourchampionship winning season. Nobody knows why Mersin was chosen ahead of Tom, it had to be a non football matter. This talk about nothing to choose between them is not credible. Embarrassing a hole has been dug.

20 goals conceded in 9 matches. The defence has a frailty to it that was not visible last season. The only player apparently exempt from scrutiny is the keeper. We are told time and time again that the goals being conceded have nothing to do with the guy whose job it is to keep clean sheets. Excuses are wearing thin.

That third goal was Mersin's mistake. Just noted on the match thread about lack of communication in defence. Mersin doesn't appear to be much of an organiser. Did Hadler do more of that last season? If so, time for a change.

After watching the highlights,
HADLER HAS TO START AT THE WEEKEND!!!!
Bromley just kept putting the ball in to the 6yd box where Mersin is poor. Now every other team will see this and just do the same. He even nearly punched the ball into his own net at one point!!! We need the keeper to just go through players and punch the ball away, not stay routed to the goal line and wait to see what happens.
If anyone thinks Mersin is good enough to continue after games like the Bromley game, then they need to pop down to specsavers asap.

Yer right grovegreenie, but how did anybody ever come to the conclusion that Mersin commanded the 6 yard box. He can't, he won't, he never does. I've seen him play around 15 times now and despite his height, he just doesn't use it to his advantage. Crosses come over and a 'rabbit facing headlights' come to mind. Just all over the place, no wonder our defenders get the jitters. Please Hak give us our number 1 keeper back.

The one thing I liked about him was his command of his area, which gives the defenders confidence, having not seen Mersin and the goals he's conceding, obviously something is awry. Maybe the manager and Hadler have had a falling out, some things go on behind the scenes which none of us know about. The other thing is confidence, which is also lacking, a couple of wins will put that right, but you'll say, where are we going to get that from,? which is what the players are thinking I expect, so, you have to scrape a win from somewhere, somehow.

You summed it up mate.
Hadler commands his area, Mersin doesn't.
Defensive problems get exaggerated if the keeper has such a fundamental weakness.

Just stay up, for our sake. We would rather be playing Maidstone, Bromley and Gillingham next year than Dartford,Welling, Dovres and Tonbridge.
