You can’t wait for those days eh Sword? I am unique in the fact that I don't want the club to fail, and I don't think we will go down but wouldn't care if we do,at least I would be able to see more games.

There is something about being one of the better NLS sides and just the general atmosphere and attitude of other clubs and fans that I like. I am happy with soujourns into the NL though. I predict mine I’ll be sick of it in a few seasons though.

"If they're selected" "If I get my way, I'll have some new players by next week" Thanks Hak, good attitude imo. What do you do with those that aren't up to it,you can't just get rid of them as they are all on contract. Send them out on loan? Who would want them? If they ain't good enough for NL then it's NLS and who would pay the money we are undoubtedly wasting on them. Any players we get in now are obviously not good enough for NL or clubs wouldn't be getting rid of them, or they are coming back from injury and unlikely to risk playing blood and thunder 100 % commitment in case they get injured again. We have already seen that the players falling out of the football league have done so for a reason ,that being they are shite. Our reserves or u23 side have produced nobody of quality and Hak refuses to use them anyway. I don't know our finances but can we maintain a squad with another 4 or 5 players in it?. There is debate at the moment about who should be in goal, do we really need 2 keepers at this level? Hak definitely has his work cut out for him and I already fear the Hak out brigade are sharpening thei knives behind his back ready to plunge them in with one or two more defeats, the glory hunters are gathering by the exits ready to run away until the good times return. Ask Dorking what happened in early August

Ask Dorking what happened in early August So you get buggered for one game and then stick the reserve keeper in until the suspension is over. Its not gonna happen often.

Fair enough danny, but there will always be a hard core that believe we should not be in the Nationaal league preferring to be a big fish in the pond.

I agree that we don't need 2 keepers. If Hak thinks they are equal, it then depends on how much we pay them. If Mersin is on considerably less, then well worth keeping. If they are on the same, I'd offload Mersin asap and use Harley Earle as backup for Hadler. If Hadler is on less than Mersin, then Mersin goes instantly as he is not worth more than Tom.

I do want the club to climb and get back into the league but I also find myself enjoying the big fish pong scenario you mention. I never thought I’d be like that. Interesting week or two coming up. Anyone got predictions on who will leave the make space for 3 or more signings? If anyone?

Tbh I think Tom Hadler is def the stronger of the 2 keepers. But Hak knows more about it than anybody and everybody on this forum. Mersin must be a very unlucky keeper as he concedes a lot more goals than Hadler however you measure their time between the sticks.

Its a conundrum.
You would think that goalkeeping stats should matter, if one keeper keeps more clean sheets than the other, then he's your man.
But apparently not.
Up front it does seem to matter and Barham's goalscoring proves the point. He deservedly gets selected in preference to others with inferior goals scoring records.
Its all very rum.

Hadler is the darling of the Genco Stand whilst Mersin wears the crown at the Town End
