He calls him Ruben so I would imagine it's Ruben Soares Junior That's him - definitely with the team on Sunday so assuming he's likely a part of the squad now? No Paris Cowan-Hall in Saturdays lineup so guess he won't be coming in.

Sol has a knee injury apparently. May be back within a week or so, but has only played 45 mins, so sub at best. Though he was very good in those 45.

Reading all this from 1000 miles away, I am rather confused. From the friendlies I saw before we flew out, things looked pretty positive. Has it really all gone so wrong in just two weeks?! Or is it just the usual doomsayers and pre-season panickers? No we have been poor, we look like a mid table side unfortunately not mid table in the league in which we are playing. It may take a few weeks for the team to step up to the mark and begin performing on a consistent level. Aren't you the same person who said you can't tell anything from pre-season. What I saw was a Dulwich team keen to put one over on a side from a higher division and a Maidstone team saving themselves for the real thing next week.

You are right Dave you cannot really tell from pr season games. My opinion is based solely on what I saw and not what could have been . Judging by what I have seen against both Folkestone and Dulwich I have no difficulty in predicting a loss next Saturday as Alty have a better than average home record. If we play like did v Folkestone we will lose by 2goals or more. Should we play like we did first 75 minutes on Saturday I think we could take a hammering. If we play like the last 15 minutes on Saturday we may scrape a draw.

But what makes you think we'll play like that. The opposition have hardly been inspiring in pre-season. We did ok against orient and everyone says "but it's only the U23s". We smashed Enfield and Cray Valley and everyone says they're lower league. Well that may be true but you can only play what's in front of you and it can't be easy to get motivated for what is effectively nothing more than a training game. Why not wait and see rather than pre-judging how poor we're gonna be. I don't actually recall setting the world alight in pre-season last year and look how that ended up.

Also, last season didn't exactly start wonderfully, with players out and the squad not gelling. But Hak sorted it out, players came back, and, to quote Dave, "look how that ended up".
What matters is not what happens Saturday, but where we are three months or so in.

daveu is always optimistic, its how he is when it comes to looking forward. Just been listening to a 'rearing to go' Jack Barham who predicts a tough season and asks fans to be realistic. On a personal note he admits to playing 'catch up' and some way behind the fitness levels of most of the squad. Seems very unlikely he will see action on Saturday.

Good interview with Jack Barham online. Talks very sensibly about the season ahead and how he’s looking forward to it.

He calls him Ruben so I would imagine it's Ruben Soares Junior He played in the PSF at Sheppey and looked a handful but not sure what you can judge from that.

Does anyone know who this is?? Played in the Scottish champ 22 app last season, must have something to offer for us in NL. Regarding the season, upcoming, feet firmly on the ground, hoping that we stay up, that will be a good season, let's hope the fans get behind the team, when it's not going our way, and at times that's going to happen. Let's hope the crowds keep coming, and not drift away.

Dulwich, whose forum fans claim to hate Billericay, were beating them 1-0 and back in the play off places, until two very late goals meant both clubs now on equal points.
